I liked it a lot. I like that it’s from his perspective, I like the way things worked out and I like them together and her daughter. What I don’t like is more general to the series. If this was a standalone it would be almost 5 stars but the series is starting to drag a little.

The characters I loved at the start like Duke, Lucy, Hux and Everly aren’t in it at all anymore apart from a passing mention. Even Cal from the last one is only a brief mention. They also all, and I mean ALL, end up married with a few kids even when it doesn’t quite make sense. I love when characters end up with kids but it’s almost too much in this series. The next book is always years after the last, this one is maybe 2/3 years after the last one’s epilogue.

There is also a lot of very convenient drama that is starting to annoy me. Books can be interesting without mentioning a past attempted murder that has no bearing on the current plot. Or a random surrogate that pops up half way through the book.

This is so good. It’s a YA, reluctant hero, found family fantasy. At first I thought it was going to be a cozy fantasy but I don’t think that applies to this book. It is a very good story, sad in parts but also funny.

I really enjoyed it, for the most part. I loved Zach. I loved the antics that Cami and her friends got into. I loved seeing Damien and Abbie again.

There was a lot of the early 2000s influence, which I love, Mean Girls etc. But it also had the early 2000s internalised misogyny at parts. The means girls were called the “B*tch Pack”, and all of them except the leader were basically too stupid to function. That’s not even an exaggeration, I am paraphrasing the book. There is also an evil mother, evil step sister and yet somehow the grandpa who knew they were evil is good, and so is the potential step father. This wasn’t intentional I don’t think, but it was a stand out part of the story.

I started this a few months ago through the library but didn’t finish it before my loan finished. I finally got it again and I am so glad I did. It was a little predictable but I still enjoyed it a lot.

I really enjoyed it. Sloane and Rowan are both really interesting characters. I will admit that it kind of lost me towards the end, the pacing was weird. The first half was definitely my favourite. It was fun and kept me hooked. I love the tension that built up between the two of them and when it broke the spice was great, maybe a little long though. Overall, I think it was a really good book, I wasn't expecting to enjoy it as much as I did.

Why I wasnt expecting to enjoy it, and why it was fine:
The cannibalism warning grossed me out, BUT the purposeful stuff wasnt the MCs so it was fine. Parts of the book were still kind of gross but it wasnt bad.

A minor detail that bugged me:
BOOT PRINTS WOULDN'T LAST THAT LONG! And if they did she would have had a lot more problems

I did like it but there was a lot that made it kind of meh. I didn’t like her bestie Ahn at all, she seriously sucked and I don’t know why Olive was friends with her. I also had a couple of problems with Olive. She was constantly insecure, which made the dialogue kind of clunky. I did like the relationship for the most part and I think without the clunky dialogue the spicy scenes would have been really good.

I won’t count out this author because I reckon some of her later books will be really good but I don’t think I will read the next few in this style. I still really want to try Bride

Smut was smutting. The overall plot was pretty good but did drag on a little. I love Andre, he did lose me at points when he was grumpy or stern which seemed very contrasting to how he was the rest of the time. I really enjoyed Liv’s growth. I love Edna so much, she is an icon

I really enjoyed it. I love a meddling grandparent but she did seriously annoy me at points. I know I could never be a main character in these books because I would never forgive these people.

This is a very cute, closed door romance. He’s a rockstar who just lost his best friend/bandmate and she’s a horticulturist starting a new job teaching. They both end up in the same small town, and end up working on his very overgrown garden together. It was a cute read but did have a 3rd act break up wh

I just couldn’t get into it. The spice was turning me off even though I thought it could be sooo good. It hit all the write phrases but they didn’t flow? I don’t know how else to explain it.

The start was also quite slow which is weird because it is a short book.
