Yes again another amazing read! I hardly give sequels five star but I think this one might have been even better than the first. I found myself ingrained within the story, rooting for the characters, getting sad and hurt for the injustices that they face , and rejoicing in their wins.
Mia is such an amazing and brave character and everyone of the characters is lovable . This book heavily focused on a real law that was voted in that made undocumented immigrant children not able to attend school. There was a lot of insight into immigrants, the racism that they faced and unjust laws. I believe kelly did a great job reflecting all of this but through the voice of a 12 year old (which was based on her own childhood). The authors note just like last time made me cry.
I would recommend this book to everyone!!!

Loved reading all about CeCe and her experiences as she gets used to being deaf. I love the various friendships she describes and I felt for her when she was dealing with loneliness and bullying . The characters were well fleshed out and very lovable. A great way of reflecting and showing how people that are hard of hearing go through life and how they are treated. CeCe does an amazing job of showing her life through this wonderful format
Graphic novels are moving up on my favorite way to read. This was a quick and fun but moving /deep read

Tbh I don’t know why I finished this book other than the fact I owned it and it was a super quick read
These characters were sooooo cringe worthy and I get that was the point but seriously there was no redemptive characteristics except maybe Gracie who really isn’t a bog part of these emails
The only thing I liked was the email format but the emails and situations were so unrelatable .

Probably the most confused and conflicted I’ve felt on a book and especially on an author who I have LOVED all his past books. I am left at the end of this book still not knowing if I liked it or not.
There were many times during the book that I wanted to DNF it but also I just couldn’t find myself doing that because I neeeded to know what happened.
I don’t know why he had to write it so confusing and the flow was really distracting and annoying. The charaxters are so unlikable that they become likable. However, at the end I ended up liking the outcome and their stories. So confused. It gets a 3 star because of how often o wanted to give up but then how I ended up liking the end . Probably my least favorite Backman novel though

A very very well done middle grade book that hits on very hard topics.
Zoe receives a letter from her father who she never met because he is in prison, she is trying to help prove his innocence.
The book covers this difficult topic very well. You falll in love with all the characters and you are captivated to see what will happen next

Love a good, adventurous orphan story. The tale of 5 “Unadoptable”orphans and their search for one of their family’s and also escaping the horrible life they had before. These orphans have become the best Unconventional family and i really enjoyed reading about their misadventures. They are intelligent, resourceful and brave. You will fall in love with all of them and find yourself rooting hard for them. This was a well-written book with descriptive language and the perfect pacing.

Read in one sitting. Pure amazing ! I never really liked novel in verse but I really liked this one! The characters were great. The pace was perfect and I just didn’t want to put it down. Can’t wait to read more from him.
