Yes again another amazing read! I hardly give sequels five star but I think this one might have been even better than the first. I found myself ingrained within the story, rooting for the characters, getting sad and hurt for the injustices that they face , and rejoicing in their wins.
Mia is such an amazing and brave character and everyone of the characters is lovable . This book heavily focused on a real law that was voted in that made undocumented immigrant children not able to attend school. There was a lot of insight into immigrants, the racism that they faced and unjust laws. I believe kelly did a great job reflecting all of this but through the voice of a 12 year old (which was based on her own childhood). The authors note just like last time made me cry.
I would recommend this book to everyone!!!
