a really great introduction to Indigenous issues in Canada.
incredible. i couldn’t put it down. it’s also terrifying, so i couldn’t read it at night, but don’t let that deter you from reading it.
“a vision of loneliness and riot”
It took me a chapter to get into this book, but ultimately i really enjoyed it. Woolf writes how “a woman writing thinks back through her mothers”, remembering those women that did not have a voice (or £500 and a room of one’s own). as i head to law school, i’m feeling humbled by my ability to access knowledge and am grateful to those women that came before me, often struggling but working hard to pave the way. this book has sat on my shelf for years, but i’m extremely glad that i was compelled to read it at this point in my life.

no offense but i hated this little book. it took me a year to get through it bc reading it was akin to pulling teeth.
“i am certain of nothing”
absolutely brilliant. Bourdain was truly a gifted writer. again, i am moved by his storytelling.
