A Room Of One's Own
by Virginia Woolf
“a vision of loneliness and riot”
It took me a chapter to get into this book, but ultimately i really enjoyed it. Woolf writes how “a woman writing thinks back through her mothers”, remembering those women that did not have a voice (or £500 and a room of one’s own). as i head to law school, i’m feeling humbled by my ability to access knowledge and am grateful to those women that came before me, often struggling but working hard to pave the way. this book has sat on my shelf for years, but i’m extremely glad that i was compelled to read it at this point in my life.
