This book rips off the plot of “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie, entirely. Usually, in mysteries there is a body within the first 50 pages, at least for Agatha Christie. This book took a while to set up the characters, and the story. If you haven’t read the original this plot will be unsuspecting. But for those who have read the book, this is a very subpar retelling. The writing itself was very bland and the novel was slow and boring. There was no build-up or suspense for each of the murders. It was like eating brunch in this snowy cozy inn and suddenly a body drops down from the ceiling. Oh, dear. The worst part of it was that there was no logical reason for any of these murders to happen. The ending was badly patched up together. Every character in this book was unlikable and this read more like a soap opera than a murder mystery. I won’t be reading any more by this author.

The writing in this book was really bad. There was zero world building and we didn’t get enough information about the government. All we know is that the whole system somehow relies on the fashion house. But we didn’t get enough information in this 300+ page book. This could have undergone another round of edits. In typical YA fashion all emotion was conveyed through Emmaline’s eyes.

None of the characters were fully fleshed out. And the whole thing goes up in flames, literally. The character motivations were very unclear and the plot left a lot to be desired. I’m really sad about this one, I thought this was going to be Project Runway in a book. But instead it was an underdeveloped book that didn’t deliver what was promised on the dust jacket.

I love this book so much. So blown away by Miller’s writing, it’s so beautiful. Circe was such an intriguing complex character. If you’ve been thinking about reading this, you should! This book does The Odyssey justice! I love this book! One of my favorites of the year so far!

This Bosch novel was so good! I loved all the red herrings and the twists in this book. Concrete Blonde is my favorite and Trunk music is now my second favorite book. It’s a perfect murder mystery to read.

I loved this book. It was so good. It will live in my bookshelf forever. Every page of this book was perfection!

This book was so good! Adventure, Pirates, touring the continent, this book is amazing. Percy and Monty were so cute! You must read this book!
