I loved the initial premise of the book and the idea of members of this dystopian society subverting its values. However, I felt like the main cast didn't actually didn't do much to go against society at all. It was just a bit of a let down.

I pushed through this book despite the transphobia and incorrect pronouns/incorrect names used in reference to a young transgender girl, and I wish I had just put it down. While I would consider the book to be plot-driven, it also somehow managed to lack a fleshed out plot. The characters overall were not likeable, with the exception of Killer and Teddy, poorly fleshed out, and this did not help with the lackluster plot in driving the story forward.

Overall, it was a disappointing read.
