I enjoyed the book and it helped me identify my love languages and dialects, but the anecdotas were often not relatable and could feel a bit preachy. For such a quick read, it also felt like there was 'fat' that could have been trimmed to make the book even more streamlined.

A beautiful retelling of Norse mytholigy from an intriguing new perspective. I enjoyed the explorations of feminism, family, and love in this book. A slow burn at first, the story really picks up around the halfway mark. That said, I really enjoyed the languid introductions and set up that the first half provided to all of the characters. Overall, a solid book that I can imagine revisiting multiple time in the future. Note: it was nice to have also read Neil Gaiman's Norse Mythology prior to reading this book (knowing the mythology is by no means necessary to enjoy The Witch's Heart, but it definitely help).ed with context and timeline

The illustrations are absolutely gorgeous and there are some interesting pieces of history and tips for park visits throughout. It felt like there was a lot of repetition in the reactions the the 1-star reviews of different parks though, so that aspect got a bit boring as the book continued.

A reflection on life and death in the face of a terminal disease. I was most affected by the epilogue (written by Paul's wife after he had passed away). I found that the sections referencing either scripture or literature dragged a bit for me (simply because I wasn't interest in them and I didn't connect well to them). Overall it was a worthwhile read, but I don't see myself re-reading it.
