Some of the book was a hit repetitive, but overall it was a very insightful and eye-opening take on the field of gynecology and obstetrics.

Overall a satisfying conclusion to the Winternight Trilogy. The pacing almost killed the book for me, though.

It felt like the Bear and Konstantin were the main hurdles to overcome and it happened a little over half way through the book. It also felt very *tidy* that Konstantin took care of himself and binding the Bear. It took quite awhile before I felt the story found its groove again, because there hadn't been a lot of foreshadowing surrounding how the final battle would resolve.

Overall, I enjoyed how everything was wrapped up and like the series as a whole.
informative reflective medium-paced

More memoir focus than I anticipated, but still and interesting and informative read. I feel guilty about eating unagi now, though, which I guess I will have to live with now.
challenging reflective slow-paced

This book was very focused on the author's own experience of the ways she had successfully disconnected from the attention economy. It was very alienating as someone who doesn't live in the Bay Area and couldn't relate to the touchstones that the author seemed connected to. The same could be said for connections to art pieces referenced. It may have been different if I had read the book in print (perhaps that would have had photos to help?), but the book nor the format seemed to suit me - it didn't give very practical tips for disconnecting from the attention economy, nor did it delve into the benefits of disconnecting much deeper than the author's personal experience in a way that would compel me to make similar changes in my own life.
