A grumpy millionaire, a feisty BFF sister, a surprise child...what a premise! Ford is the perfect grump with his demanding ways as a boss to him figuring out how to establish his relationship with Cora, a 12 year old daughter he didn't know existed. The chemistry and banter between Rosie and Ford was perfection. Cora added such a great element to the story. I can't wait to read more from this series.

This was such a perfect beach read. Set in Bora Bora with a wedding planner on vacation and bumps into Brody, who is here for his boss' wedding and is his brother's BFF. They are enemies and somehow end up agreeing to be fake dating to gain trust of the wedding family. There banter and tension was so funny. The only one bed and forced proximity created some slow burn steamy moments. The duet narration made the book so fun.

Phoebe is down in the dumps with a failed marriage, failed IVF and a cat that just died. She decided to go to a beautiful resort that she always wanted to go with her husband to end her life. She goes to this extravagant resort and discovers that everyone is there for a wedding of Lila and Gary. She meets Lila and somehow Lila convince Phoebe to spend the week with her for the weeding and not kill herself. Lila and Phoebe forms a friendship that is humorous and honest. The writing made this book so entertaining and Helen Laser did such a great job with the narration.

If you love nostalgia books with music of early 2000 like Blink 182, Paramour, this book is for you. Sam returns home to her small town to help her grandmother and finds a cd player that has a cd mix that was made by her first love, Damon. She learns that the CD player has a magical power and each track that she plays, goes back to their high school days but played out a little differently. It was fun to see both present Sam and Damon and the alternate flashbacks.

I did find it odd that Damon was so welcoming with Sam since she left 10 years ago and never came back. Damon's family added a fun dimension to the story as well.

A clambake turned wedding turned murder...count me in. Three women who are tied to Peter are all invited to the clambake and is summoned to meet and learns that Peter is about to be married to Tilly. There's demands made and all 3 women are upset by the announcement. The story is told in these 3 women's POV and the aftermath of the murder. You don't know who the killer is and the story keeps you guessing with a bunch of suspicious things thrown at you. I can't say that any of the characters were likable, each had their own agenda. Overall an entertaining mystery.

Lauren Layne does romance so well. This was such a fun story with each chapter starting with Miranda's horoscope. Miranda is college professor who was denied for tenure and is taking a forced sabbatical who takes care of her aunt's house. She meets the mysterious grumpy neighbor, Archer. They start chatting and she shares her change in process using astrology to guide her sabbatical. Their interaction and banter was perfection. I enjoyed their tension and Miranda's journey to discovering herself.

I was so excited to read a book set in North Shore on Oahu since I grew up on the island. The author's note that her mom grew up there, I had high expectations in regards to accuracy of the island. Sellet did a good job describing the north side of the island and the local foods. What disappointed me was that none of the characters spoke pidgin English which is such a big part of the culture.

The story for me was just a little slow and I wasn't vested in Libby and Jefferson's love story. I think all the lies that the story was built on just turned me off.

After reading Look Closer, I became a fan of Ellis' books. He does such an amazing job with a morally grey character in Leo who is diagnosed as a pathological liar. He has been cornered by the FBI to go undercover. The story is told in multiple POV and a wide cast of characters which does a great job bringing the story to life. I love how we learn about Leo's past and how all these characters connect. There's so much twist and turns with this story and kept me so entertained.

This was a great love story between a violinist, Gwen, and a famous cellist, Xander. They have been on the same side orchestra with Gwen who is hiding in plain site and Xander the opposite. I really enjoyed when the two got together playing music and wished there was actual some sample musical notes in the book. I did feel there moment was very abrupt and there was no build up to it. I guess they were so moved by playing music together. I enjoyed seeing both of their character growth and the dual POV. I really wanted more Xander's POV.

Second chance romance is a hit or miss for me. This one landed right in the middle for me. I am usually a fan of angst but something about their angst didn't sit right for me. I felt Georgia had a lot of growing up to do and miscommunication is one of my least favorite tropes and felt there was a lot of that in Georgia and Eli's story. The first half of the book really annoyed me but I did enjoy the book once they started working together.

I enjoyed Kyla Garcia's narration and wished it was POV and see what Eli was thinking.
