Okay but this was so good!!!
This is primo enemies to lovers, right here. Not the oh you were mean to me one time so we don't get along stuff. I'm talking You are the whole reason my people are suffering and dying so I will destroy your whole kingdom kind of energy, you know?
And I love these characters! Lara is a baddie from the start. She was RAISED to destroy her enemies. And I like that in my protagonists 😆
Great slow burn romance. Lara and Aren's relationship was perfectly paced.
And the last few chapters KILLED me. Thank God I don't have to wait for the sequel 🙏🏻

This was an absolute delight! It was recommended to me to go into this story with little knowledge and I am so glad I did! I can't really go into major plot details without giving away too much - but I was HOOKED the entire time.
This is a Sci Fi space drama about purpose, connection, and what it means to be human.
At times it was funny, it was stressful, it was heartbreaking. But through it all there was still so much heart and hope.
I was rooting for Ambrose and Kodiak the entire time. These boys were put THROUGH it. And the ending was so satisfying and well deserved.

Overall, this was an enjoyable read if you're looking for something to not take too seriously.
What I liked:
✔️The Finnish folklore. Loved this take on the character of "Death" and the Underworld.
✔️Beauty and the Beast type storyline.
✔️A little bit spicy.
What I didn't like:
❌ Overuse of modern colloquialisms. Every once in a while is fine, but it was too frequent and became distracting.
Does end on a cliffhanger but luckily the second book is out. Will I read it? Yeah. But I'm not itching to jump right in.

Tink: plus sized queen and mega brat. I love her for that. 😆
Hook: winner of "most creative wedding night plans". And we LOVE him for that 😏
This one was fun but not my favorite. I do love that marriage of convenience trope though.

Just me continuing down this Katee Robert rabbit hole 🤷🏻♀️
I love the way Katee writes throuples and this one is no exception.
I was annoyed with Hercules in the beginning. Why was this boy so clueless?? But his golden retriever energy grew on me throughout the story- just what Meg and Hades needed ❤️.
And I LOVE these tie ins to the Dark Olympus series.
The ending was kind of abrupt but that just makes me want to jump into the next one right away- oops 😆

Jafar is hot, okay.
The daddy/baby girl dynamic is not totally for me but it's Katee Robert and I still liked it.
Love the ending of this one. Wasn't expecting that. 👌🏻
Scribd has all of this series on ebook and audio so I'm about to binge the bejeezus out of these over the next 2-3 days 😆

Ruby Dixon just doing her thing.
Post-apocalyptic world where dragon-shifters have come through a rift in spacetime (? maybe.) And they need mates. Sign me up.
Our FMC, Claudia, has been offered up as "bait" to try and appease the outlandish theory that a dragon can be "tamed" by a human female. Then she is found by Kael (our big scary dragon man) and he decides that she is his and will stop at nothing to prove himself as a suitable mate for her. Too bad they can't communicate with each other.
I always love this trope where there is a complete lack of understanding of each others courting practices. I chuckled every time Kael was confused when Claudia didn't appreciate him slaughtering animals and dropping them at her feet.... why doesn't this tiny fragile creature understand that I'm trying to provide for her??
Overall, this was a good time. Was it her best? No. But I think this book probably has the same issues that all of the first books in these long series do- I think this one sets the world up nicely and I will probably enjoy the later books more.

“With the force of every woman tired of broke men’s audacity, I yeeted the drink straight at Jack’s head. Unfortunately for me, that broke man could dodge. I watched in horror as Jack ducked down, letting the fizzing pink drink fly straight over his head to crash into a mess of blonde hair.”
And with that, our story begins. 😆
Brie is the best friend of Cinnamon (our FMC from the first book). She is a cheese monger, a monster romance enthusiast, and a lady with zero time for the mediocre men of Boohail.
Felix is the adorably charming werewolf who’s just had a love potion yeeted at his head. Poor timing, that, because one look at Brie and he realizes that she is his fated mate. Now he just has to prove that his doting obsession has nothing to do with being drugged and everything to do with settling down with his soulmate and having 10 babies. Easy.
But of course, nothing is ever that easy. With demons trying to integrate into human society and another big-bad out there snatching up women for nefarious purposes, our heroes must once again save the day.
Felix is the absolute best. He’s charming, funny, doting, and 100% committed to playing out every one of Brie’s monster romance fantasies. 😏 Literally the perfect man. Brie is hilarious and doing her best not to get her hopes up once the love potion has worn off.
AND ALL OF THE HILARIOUS SIDE CHARACTERS! (The return of a fan favorite caught me off guard and I loved it 🗡️)
Kimberly Lemming just fills a certain place in my heart with her laugh-out-loud cozy fantasy romance stories. I could read 25 more of these misadventures and still want more.
