Ruby Dixon just doing her thing.

Post-apocalyptic world where dragon-shifters have come through a rift in spacetime (? maybe.) And they need mates. Sign me up.

Our FMC, Claudia, has been offered up as "bait" to try and appease the outlandish theory that a dragon can be "tamed" by a human female. Then she is found by Kael (our big scary dragon man) and he decides that she is his and will stop at nothing to prove himself as a suitable mate for her. Too bad they can't communicate with each other.

I always love this trope where there is a complete lack of understanding of each others courting practices. I chuckled every time Kael was confused when Claudia didn't appreciate him slaughtering animals and dropping them at her feet.... why doesn't this tiny fragile creature understand that I'm trying to provide for her??

Overall, this was a good time. Was it her best? No. But I think this book probably has the same issues that all of the first books in these long series do- I think this one sets the world up nicely and I will probably enjoy the later books more.
