At some point I’ll stop crying long enough to write a review but tonight is not going to be that night. I love Shane and Ilya SO GODDAMN MUCH.

Actual review: okay I still don't have coherent words to write how much I LOVED THIS BOOK. Shane and Ilya are my life and I don't know how I went this long without them. It's been over a month since I finished reading and I still think about so many moments all the time - Shane's spicy drive to Ilya's house, the proposal, Ilya's snark (especially with Hayden), the pining and the longing and the ANGST. THE ENDING. My heart could not love this any more, and I will be absolutely completely feral over the adaptation.

POV: dual third person

You can expect: former rivals to lovers, secret relationship, opposites attract, roasting as a love language, long distance, men who go to therapy, "mine"/"yours".

Rep: Russian MMC, Japanese Canadian MMC, bisexual MMC, gay MMC, trans side character, grief.

Spice: 3/5

CW: accidental outing, homophobia, death of a parent (past).

The last of the series, this book lands nicely.

We see the couple from book two a couple years into their secret relationship and the trials and tribulations of only having limited time with each other while growing as people. We see how their secret affects them in different ways. It's a really good ending.

Again, these two don't stop being spicy. No one in her series has as much sex as these two. Good for them.

Oh wow ❤️❤️❤️ I don’t really have words for how much I loved this book. Absolutely incredible, I think so far my top contemporary romance book of all time. I laughed and I cried and I loved that we got to see Shane and Ilya’s love grow deeper. It made me realize how often in romance books you only just barely get to see the characters actually, truly, deeply in love at the end. The real world is not happily ever after, but it’s the real world challenges that make the love deeper and more real. And this book gave us the chance to see that. My heart is so full. I only wish to have more books for the story to continue and to
to actually see them play together
❤️ This is the kind of book that really gives you a book hangover and is hard to stop thinking about. But I know I will reread it many times in the years to come and will treasure the characters’ love and courage in my heart.

I didn’t enjoy this as much as the first one, but I still loved it.
