Everyone needs to read this book. It's inspiring, heartbreaking, and infuriating, but it's such a wonderful story about a trans woman who met a trans man (from Chippewa Falls, and a Cray to boot!) and their love story, as well as their tireless work to make sure that trans and other LBGTQ+ folks have the right to live their lives with equal rights and dignity. So powerful. I've always been an ally and advocate, and this book really enlightened me to what happened to have previous rights be passed, and how much we still need to fight, especially today, to make sure that these rights stay put, more are put in place to further protect and support, and that we all need to fight for trans equality.

overall a good book, and i would definitely recommend.

Wow, this was a riveting memoir. Struggle, love, loss. So much honesty it almost hurts to read, but feels necessary to understanding and making progress with trans rights. Sarah is very fortunate to be blessed with such a loving circle and I hope one day it's more common than rare to not have to worry about being hate-crimed, threatened, or treated like less than a person.

Sobbed through the whole thing. Required reading for everyone in America, and for the love of god, someone please send this to JK Rowling.

I hope Representative McBride becomes President someday. I hope our country gets there. At the very least, I hope she writes several more memoirs, because she just keeps making history.
