I was pleasantly surprised by this graphic novel. I thought it explored its themes & concept well. It didn’t get carried away or outstay its welcome either.

I loved the first volume, but this one felt slow & boring whenever Morpheus wasn’t there which felt like a lot.
I especially felt disconnected from Barbie as a character. I felt she didn’t have as strong a motivation as other characters.

Too long…
I thought I was ready for a longer project, but nope.
So dense.

Believably devious characters, each with their own strong wants and desires and the cunning to go after them. Excellently written. I can't wait to pick up the sequels.

Enjoyable. It was an interesting world to explore and written very well on both page level and structurally. Especially towards the end, the tension and suspense ramped nicely and when things went wrong, the characters were left to make actions to solve the problems. No-one just got lucky.

Just not my thing. It was trying to be funny and in moments it succeeded. All the rest of the time, things happened seemingly at random and with very little to do with anything characters were doing.
I feel really bad about this rating because I know people love it, and I can appreciate the quality of the book, it just didn’t connect with my humour.
