I can see why there’s still so much talk about this book.

It’s a dream for many, and this book seems to set out a roadmap.

It’s definitely motivating, and I’ll be putting many of these ideas into practice, even if just as an experiment.

I was trying the audiobook and it's not the way to go. I'll get the physical copy and try again.

I love the genre, and I’m partial to a gather the town for a rag-tag style last stand trope, but the characters felt a little shallow.

Sometimes I struggled to keep straight who was who.

If you like blood and guts and sex in wonderfully gratuitous amounts, this is a bucket of that.

But if you like a little more humanity in your splatter, so the deaths really hurt, this wasn’t that for me.

Personally, you can’t beat I Am Not a Gangster by Bobby Cummins for something of this genre, but as far as they go, this is a solid entry and one worth reading.

I loved this book.

As a creative, you can feel alone. Are you going easy on yourself? Going hard on yourself? Are you doing this thing right?

This book was a great reminder that there is no right way to create, just like there’s no right way to live.

Having said that, some common themes were extremely interesting.
Some that stood out to me was the prevalence of long walks, the interaction between creative work and sexual activity, and perhaps less surprisingly, drugs.

Definitely recommend.

Fun listen, but genuinely useful tips and information.

It mostly covers the basics so if you know anything about the topic, it’ll be more of a refresher than anything else, but that’ll probably help you remember tips and facts, so that might not be such a bad thing.

This is an interesting book. I wish I’d found it earlier.

Read it as soon as you can no matter your relationship status.

An interesting look at the SAS’s lesser talked about brother.
It was told through the personable eyes of the author, but had stories he wasn’t a party to sprinkled throughout giving a broader view of the life and world these men inhabit.

Exactly what it says on the tin. Appropriately concise and clear.

Useful for anyone who writes for others to read.
