Overall, I think she does better when focusing on political and social than her musings on books and authors. I realized that I would stay focused the political writings than the reviews of authors and books - which I found myself skimming.
Little Shop Around the Corner (and all its remakes) meets Sabrina (and all its remakes) with a Nora Ephron kitchen and banter - in a Victorian setting.
A Duke Like No Other (Playful Brides #9) is my first novel by Valerie Bowman. I enjoyed it, because not only is it a steamy romance but a well written one, with a witty sparring-couple that were estranged and reunited for practical reasons, and then things change. The story well thought out which included a murder to solve; secondary characters were filled-out with personalities and just as entertaining as the main characters. I found 350-some page novel quick and easy to read. It was fun and enjoyable.

It's All About the Duke by Amelia Grey storyline is one of my troupes in romance novels - female gossip writer who writes about Dukes and then falls in love with the one she writes the most about in the scandal pages. At times I felt the secondary character's storyline was overtaking the main plot, but that is a picky critique because the novel was still a quick read.and fun waiting for the Duke to figure out she was the one writing about him.

Quick read. I haven't read any other books from the series, so this works well as a stand-alone novel.
