I knew it was gonna be good. I JUST KNEW IT!!
The action takes a little bit of time to take off, but that's how I like it, anyway! Starting from there it's a brilliant rollercoaster of folklore, magic, fairytales and intrigue and hOLY CRAP ITS ROMANIAN FOLKLORE I REPEAT /ROMANIAN/
And guys. It is done so /well/ I CAN'T EVEN. It was a pure treat to read. You can tell the author did so much research! It was incredible! She must have spent hours and hours reading all our folktales and researching Romanian cultures and traditions and HNJDJSKJ okay like every so often I'd read something, snort, and say "that's SO Romanian". Like...my country doesn't get much attention in literature. So The Princess Curse was... refreshing! And exciting! And Merrie Haskell GOT IT ALL RIGHT!! (except she mispelled "domnule" as "doamnule" but I'm gonna let that slide because I'm still on cloud nine. Though...how do you get so many cultural intricacies spot on,and then misspell such a common word? It's a little impressive! WHO CARES THOUGH IT WAS OVERALL AMAZING AND IMMA END THIS PARAGRAPH HERE BEFORE I RUN OUT OF BREATH HHAAAAH)
Reveka is our thirteen year old protagonist - a charming and clever girl with just the right amount of spunk. I ,,,love her so much. 13 pages in I texted my friend saying I would die for her. STILL TRUE. You can't help rooting for her as she does her best, in her own no-nonsense way, to break the curse and save everybody.
Partly The Twelve Dancing Princesses, partly Hades and Persephone, and all of that suffused with Romanian myths and folklore - I fell for this middle grade fantasy and I fell hard. Hdbdvsjfkf. Signing off now before everyone gets tired of me. AAAAAAAH READ IT READ IT

The sequel to Persepolis is every bit as insightful, clever and touching as the first - and yet as Marjane matures, so the content becomes more so. Proceed with caution if you like your books clean!

I'm absolutely stunned. My emotions are,,,all over the place. My heart is broken and hhGghjJFGh
I love everything about this book, with a passion. The heartfelt, evocative writing style. The sweet, irresistible characters (minus the Maestro, of course, who is not MEANT to be liked.) The...t-the emotions..I can't.. all the themes it strikes upon..IM JUST,,,,IM LOST FOR WORDS ALL I CAN DO IS CRY AND RANT AND RECOMMEND IT TO EVERYONE IN THE KNOWN UNIVERSE,,,
I wouldn't change a bloody thing about it. Shining five star read.

I love Theodore Boone! I'm aware that I am not exactly in the demographic the series is aimed at, but... Theo is an irresistible character, and all these books are quick and gripping reads. The pacing in this first one was perhaps a little slow, but, unpopular as this opinion may be, that's exactly how a court drama SHOULD be. That's how it really is to work in the law, or as a detective. It's slow and gradual - car chases, surprise witnesses and explosions are pretty much just for the movies.
Time to read the third now!

IT GOT BETTER!! I DIDN'T THINK IT COULD POSSIBLY GET BETTER

??? I'm incoherent?? This is possibly the best webcomic I have ever read?? Like??? HOW???????

Yeah at this point I've kind of given up on words...it's either this, or a 900 word essay on how much I Love Everything About Gunnerkrigg Court.

Things start to get very very rough for Annie, and when everything she loves is taken from her, she must learn to grow and be strong.
