This was a cute read! Since meeting Reggie in ‘A Princess in Theory’ I had to know more about her and read her story. Her relationship with Gustave is the cutest and love how supportive they are of one another.
“That place”. She tipped her nose to the ceiling and sniffed as if she wasn’t a bag of bones marinating in her own decay..”
After reading this line I put the book down and laughed so loud this line was unexpected. I had to walk away for a moment because that burn was too much.. Very clever, still laughing over it a couple of days later 😂
I loved this book and knew that before the last page I would read this again. So much happened and little things I felt I may have missed during the first read. Poignant emotions, the strength and love of family and what we inherited for our families, and how it’s not too late to change.
Also, the cover art is beautiful 😍

Octavia Butler’s stories always suck me in and leaves me immersed in the characters worlds. This story leaves out the fantasy element that you see in The Xenogenisis trilogy and in Kindred and focuses strictly on human interactions and how we impact one another.
Edit: After reading this book it left me wondering about Earthseed’s purpose and teachings. “God is change, shape God” I will be mulling over this a bit longer.

So glad to finally see more of Likotsi!!! This was a cute book with a nicely done sex scene, which Alyssa Cole seems to do well. I’m not typically into ‘love at first sight’ stories but Fab and Likotsi stole my heart and left me wanting more of them two at the end.
Will probably read ‘A Prince on Paper’ eventually

This book was immersive and was intrigued by the culture, festivals, and food. It was interesting to see the characters from their own point of view and from the quick interactions they’ve had with the other characters.
I expected one or two of their stories to end some kind of way but not that way! Like my heart and oh shit I want to know more and hope it all works out. This is a good book for black women considering moving to a Scandinavian or European country. I appreciated the author putting in her experiences…At the end, I just sat there looked at my boyfriend and said “We (black folks- weather you’re American, African, Caribbean, etc) can’t get a break can we?” And as one story shows you can with stipulations and if we you play along with majority.

Even after watching the anime I must still remind myself to not get attached to the characters broken 😞
Wall rose has been breached?! And Annie is the female titan?? Can definitely see the resemblance in not only her features but fighting style…Now I know I’ve watched the anime which has done a magnificent job keeping true to the manga but I’m still surprised and left on the tip of my toes.
What the actual fuck?! They’re all crazy. Like how are you going to eat the paper? It would have been just as fine in the toilet.
Okay so I blame everyone in the ‘Black Girls Read Too’ group for constantly talking about this book so because of y’all I decided to push this up on my books to read- was in the mood for a nice little thriller. Wouldn’t give this a 5 but it kept me interested. All I can think as I stare at this book is “Y’all are crazy as hell”

Isayama does a wonderful job of giving us little hints throughout the manga. The exchanging of looks, close ups of their faces(sweating), Reiner about to bite his hand. You’ll get so caught up in the action you may notice the small things. Absolutely brilliant!… Now, Bertolt…really? What was your plan with coming out with your secret like that? Eren can be a bit daft but not that much
