An addictive apocalyptic puzzle. A+ story telling and art.
Excited to see where this story goes in vol. 2!

3.5 Stars rounded up because the art and layout was stunning!
The story itself has a very intriguing premise however it felt rushed. That is to say, that it was fast paced yet seemed stuffed with partial information that could have been better fleshed out in a longer storyline. I would've loved more! Overall, a good time nonetheless.

Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC.

A massive punch of nostalgia straight to the brain!.. Really, this is a fun throwback for fans of the original TMNT 80's/90's cartoon or for anyone in need of a quick dose of dad jokes, likeable villains, and fresh pizza topping/combo ideas.

Thanks to NetGalley for the eARC.

I understand that this is not a book for everyone... Though this is set in the 1950's/60's it is still endlessly relatable in today's society, particularly if you're a white, cis female. Even more accessible if you're a sahm.

V. Frank is veerrry melodramatic.

#teammonster who is incredibly self aware of his less savory traits

What can I say, I like fairytale shit and this is a great mashup/re-telling of Beauty and the Beast X Red Ridinghood.

A beautiful book about Death and those that work closely with it. Fascinating and well written, highly recommend!

A solid Okay.
A+ for being fast paced and violent, with an interesting plot and blood magic premise, however the writing felt a bit messy. Maybe it was the first person POV, as Ikenna was a tad overbearing with being impulsive and jumping to conclusions that were barely fleshed out from extremely limited accusations/suspicions. Her inner monologues drug on longer than needed and were repeatative. The book deals with important issues pertaining to race and prejudices, but spells them out for you every other chapter; a lot of hand holding and lack of faith in the reader.
I still had fun and am hoping the sequel evolves into something more finessed.
