Really hoping this becomes a reoccurring story because they did such a great job. They have a fantastic voice cast and knocked it out of the park on the ambiance. Like, there was a fire alarm going off in this and I legit thought there was actually one going off in my office building lol. 

I'm a huge Mindy Kaling fan and I highly recommend this collection for anyone who loves her. I think this is a wonderful collection of essays of real-life moments that people can relate to despite her being a celebrity (such as being a people pleaser, having social anxiety and navigating motherhood). It's also fun to get to get see her navigate stardom from her start as a writer on 'The Office' to producing tv shows.

Every poem was heartbreakingly raw and honest and anyone who is looking for that will really enjoy this collection.

This was nice, lighthearted coming-of-age historical fiction with fun characters and was very detailed (but not overly-detailed) throughout all the entire book. However, I've read stronger books trying to accomplish the same thing so I really just wanted more from this because I feel like the ending was a little rushed. I think 2 more chapters and an epilogue could've helped.

I really wanted to love this, but unfortunately I think it's just out of my range of interest regarding non-fiction books. I even specifically chose to listen on audiobook because I knew that reading a tangible copy would have been a huge struggle for me to keep my attention focused. However, I do believe that this perfect for those who are very interested in in botany, nature, and learning more about indigenous culture (which I why I myself wanted to read it). I also think this should be a required work for science and environmental related classes as it is very educational and can have huge benefits to teaching people about climate change and taking care of our planet.

This was a little weird but I enjoyed it, enough so that when it ended it felt like I got sucker punched from the cliffhanger. I didn’t realized this is pretty much a brand new series so looks like I’ll have to wait to get the full story and provide a proper rating. 

There were a lot of fun parts about this book with the snowball effect of old people committing crime, but I think a lot of the thrill got a little bit lost in translation.  I think there was a decent cast of main characters and antagonists, but I feel like we didn’t get enough time to spend with them to really break past the surface level of characteristic and personality traits. Also, somehow the plot felt both slow-moving and fast-paced at the same time, which is a new thing for me to experience (and didn’t hate). 

There is so much that can be learned regarding basic human decency from the stories these women share and I think it should be required reading for anyone who isn't BIPOC regardless of gender or walk of life.

A great collection on what the definition of 'grief' can be for someone beyond the standard death of a person. 

I wish I could've been able to hear her perform these poems in-person. I would've liked a bit more history weaved in, but hey, now I get to check out her other works.
