I think this has great commentary on corporate mentality and overall workaholic mentality that tends to plague Americans. My only issue is with the ending, because I feel like the book could have been sped up a bit pacing wise in order for our characters’ next adventure to occur (very cliffhanger-y).

This book is equal parts heartbreaking (regarding the relationship aspect) and incredibly informative (regarding the history aspect). I felt myself going through a range of emotions while listening to this book, and I think should be required reading for those seeking out AAPI stories.

I had a great time with this! I absolutely wish this was a full-length novel, but it definitely inspired me to want to check out Gomez’s other works as well as more alien related horror books. Also, bonus points for Norm!

I really want this to be a tv series because I think that a lot can be expanded plot wise. Overall, I liked the premise and the characters.

Super interesting getting to see Holes’ life trying to catch the GSK with constantly changing technology and tactics. I feel like this easily could have been an overly self-praising book, but the inclusion of details regarding his personal relationships helped me understand who he is as a person.
I really wanted to like this because of the Godzilla aspect, but my god this was so slow and meandering that I feel like nothing is actually happening .

Essentially a regurgitation of the movie, but I will say that that having Hans' background makes his actions make a lot more sense. I also give props to the narrator for being able to successfully embody each character and their personality traits.

I literally chose this to listen to because it mentioned a dog, and honestly, I was pleasantly surprised with how much I enjoyed it. I like that this focused on not relying on someone else in order to have your own life experiences and breaking away from codependency. I also thought that NPH killed it as a narrator, and I definitely want to read more from this author (and maybe adopt a street dog from Venice lol).

I appreciate the detail with Maguire's writing style, but this just wasn't for me (as someone who does tend to enjoy retellings of fairytales). I do think that the narrator of this did a fantastic job, and the unexpected musical moments were definitely a treat.

I really wanted to like this a lot more than I did, but Frances as a character was so insufferable that she kind of put a dent into the rest of the story. However, I thought that M coming to terms with her identity throughout the book was beautifully done, and the artwork was absolutely gorgeous.
