I always admired Michelle Obama and this memoir makes me love her even more. She doesn't shy away from the ugliness of politics (which is something that I thought she would avoid) and is completely raw and honest about her life pre-marriage, pre-parenthood, pre-White House and everything in between and beyond. This is officially in my top memoirs and will be one that I will be recommending always.

This definitely had potential to be a longer graphic novel considering that it was created from a film script. I wanted a little more time with the characters and learning more about the lore, but overall this was refreshing since it revolves around the topic of climate change. Really a 3/5 star, but giving an extra star for subject matter and absolutely gorgeous artwork.

This made me want to rewatch Dirty Dancing Havana Nights. And I will definitely be reading more of this author in the future!

This one is definitely heavier on the informational aspect than her other books that I've read, but overall I still enjoyed this. I appreciate that Hazelwood's YA debut didn't stick to the standard characteristics of that most YAs tend to have, and I feel like this is a better representation of the modern young adult's life in terms of the social aspect. I also think she did a fantastic job with the representation of grief because there really is no cookie cutter way to handle it no matter how much time has past.

Fantastic anthology for book lovers! It's amazing to hear influential voices gush about the books that shaped them, and it's a nice touch to also have themed book recs weaved throughout. Hoping there is another collection like this in the future!

Slightly unnecessary, but I did enjoy seeing more of Elias and Albert's friendship before the main story occurs.

I liked that this had some twist and turns that I wasn't expecting (especially with fantasy), and I absolutely adored the characters. However, I think because of the fact that this was a one-off story everything felt a bit rushed. I think this would have worked better as a duology in order for there to be a bit more world-building and examples of the magical aspects in action. I did enjoy this author though, and will be picking up her other works in the future.

I had a lot of fun with this collection of adventures from not-so-well-known spider beings! There were a few stories that I felt lacked personality, and a few that I wish were longer. I also think the cover (and some of the variant covers collected in the book) is misleading regarding some of the characters involved in the stories. Overall, I really liked this and is definitely a re-readable one!

Plot-wise, this was a little all over the place. I felt like 3 different stories were going on when there easily could have been a combination of 2 (preferably a focus on 1). A lot of the dialogue felt repetitive, but I will say that I grew pretty fond of the characters and the cliffhanger ending makes me want the sequel (as this is supposed to be the first book in the series).

If I could give this 10 stars I absolutely would! This was so freaking cute that I was legitimately sad that I was done reading it.
