I love a slow burn but not to the point where the ending feels rushed (of course right when shit hits the fan). However, this was well-acted, atmospheric, had an intriguing subject matter, and kept me on my toes the whole time so my score is bumped up a bit.

A beautiful depiction of coming to terms with your queerness.

All of my knowledge of Mr. Toad was from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride at Disneyland so I really wasn’t sure what to expect from the book itself. A bit slow paced and slightly overly detailed at parts, but overall an enjoyable read.

I went into this thinking it was going to be your standard YA rom com, but I was pleasantly surprised that it surpassed my expectations with the theme of not taking your life (and relationships with your loved ones) for granted.

It's crazy seeing how much war-focused countries are against teaching children basic learning skills and CARING ABOUT OTHERS while it's totally fine that propaganda floods every type of media that children can also have access to.

I wish there was a little more to the mythology of Laura and her kind of creature, but otherwise this was a solid story that can be interpreted in many different ways with absolutely beautiful artwork.

Honestly his best written book of the ones I’ve read so far. There were a few things that I would have changed regarding certain events that happened, but I thought the characters were so fleshed out that I feel like I was also a part of their book club.

I thought having perspectives from all angles was a fantastic way to help readers understand how incredibly chaotic Palestine's history is. It was also extremely disheartening to see the similarities between what the Palestinians have gone through to what is trying to be done in the USA. This book and the current news surrounding the Israeli-Palestinian conflict should be viewed as forewarnings for just how bad it can get if we continue to let religion, corrupt politicians, and broken systems stay the way they are or grow.

My only issue with this book is that it was very dry in writing style and is an example of why I tend to do audiobooks for history nonfiction.

A more tolerable 'insta-love' story and a fun little epilogue to 'The Unhoneymooners.' Extra half star for the great cast of narrators!

I thought the 'adult coming-of-age' aspect of the book was very well done as I myself (and I'm sure others who have read this book) have had similar experiences and emotions as Grace. This is one of the few times where I don't think a romantic aspect was needed due to all of the side characters being pretty fleshed out already, but it at least didn't feel shoehorned to the point where it was annoying.
