Is this overhyped by BookTok, yes. However, considering I went into this with low expectations I was pleasantly surprised by how attached I got to all of the characters. And in the words od Kaylor from Love Island USA Season 6, "Fawawk Aaron!"

From a long time Static Shock fan, the story was a fun balance of superhero antics while also dealing with just being a teenager. I also absolutely ADORED the bonus story and was a nice way to tie in a plot point that easily could’ve been forgotten about.

I had a lot of fun reading this! An entertaining horror beach read with clear nods to classic teen horror films. 

Everything that I wanted in a historical fiction and highly recommend the audiobook for this.

Some parts were a little dated but  the overall theme of feeling lost after trauma definitely still stands the test of time. I hope this gets released in a color version because it would absolutely elevate the artwork.

The writing itself wasn’t bad at all but good lord this book was just trauma porn the entire way through. I probably could have accepted it a little bit more if the August was a little bit older or had everything happen to her from the confines of Sal’s club.

I wish this was a full-length book because there definitely needed a bit more to the plot, but otherwise the vibes were on point and I liked the environmental aspect.

Thoroughly enjoyed this book and can't wait to read more from this author! Highly recommend for fans of 'Oona Out Of Order' (book) and 'What's Your Number?' (movie)!

Standard Poe twist, but it was still fun. Also makes me wonder how often the plot happened in the past.

This was a difficult one to get through purely because of the many heavy topics and situations that occur throughout, but I also think this book is important for people to read in order to understand the means of which people will go to survive in a time of war (even in a modern setting like this one is set).
