I love a good lawyer main character and this one did not disappoint! I also love reading about rich people. This was a good balance of fun and serious, with international clue-hunting and break ins.

I learned a lot about Chicago reading this and how messed up the school system is. I highly recommend this to Chicagoans and educators. 

Really beautifully written. A heartwrenching story about a teen struggling with the loss of her uncle to AIDS in the 1980s. I felt so many emotions reading this - compassion, anger, frustration. But the way grief is handled by the main character was beautiful to me. There was one part of the plot (minor) I didn't love - or maybe didn't understand the purpose?

Phenomal account from a long-time activitist and feminist. Loretta leaves nothing out in her recounting of her past experiences. As someone who is quick to cancel or write someone off, this book provided a lot of new perspectives for me. I am really reevulating how I judge people. Cancel culture really does not seem to be helping society, and Loretta explains why and how we can do better.

Required reading. The way the medical and healthcare systems are so deeply ingrained with racism is disgusting. It causes so much harm to already marginalized people. I need every healthcare professional to read this and share it with everyone they know. After reading a memour from a Black nurse, I was familiar with the injustices inherent in the country's medical system. And after reading this and seeing a broader view of the facts and stats - I am even angrier. 

The premise is great, but I got lost with the timelines and characters. Some of the writing was not holding my interest. I enjoyed the witchy aspects and the complex family relationships were real.

I am so sad this series is over! I love a sister trilogy. This one has insta love and it is so well done. Angel's insta love is fantastic.

I’ve read many books on body acceptance, body liberation, anti diet, etc. And this has become one of my favorites!

Chrissy is so open with her readers. I appreciate her honesty in sharing her story and not holding back. She does a wonderful job of exploring living in big body and at intersections with other marginalized identities.

Each section has thought-provoking questions and journal prompts, which I thought were really good.

Whether you know nothing about body liberation or you’ve read many of the books on the topic, I recommend this one!

we love the fat rep! kinda cheesy at points, but overall I enjoyed the rich athlete + flight attendant trope. Also love all of the dogs!
