I was hesitant going into this, as short stories are not always my thing. I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed this collection! 

Each of the stories includes a person somehow impacted by a serial killer in Australia. At the start of each story, I was anxious to figure out how the people in that story were connected to the killer. Some stories were definitely more gripping than others, but I really appreciated each of them controbuting to the mosaic of the killer's story. 

This book reminded me how interconnected we all are. I recommend if you are into true crime or enjoy short stories.

I learned a lot but did not find myself particularly interested in the topic. It was well written!

Firstly, there is a good bit of fatphobia/body shaming in this book. Which I do not love/kinda hate. 

I have mixed feelings on the book overall! There was definitely a lot of suspense and a lot going on throughout the book. However, I found the book to be a little drawn out and I got bored at points. I really liked the concept, but it was a tad too complex. I am *pretty* sure I understand what happens, but who really knows.

This started off slow for me, as in I almosted DNFed it. But I ended up really enjoying it starting at around 20%. This is unique for a romance for reasons I won't list & spoil it! 

The characters have great dialgoue and go on some cute dates. I thought this book was quite steamy (a little much for me!). The main character, Nina, is funny and smart and a baddie. We love to see a plus size model!! 

A deep dive into reality tv and how we got to where we are today (for better or for worse). I loved the author's writing style and voice, which made it that more interesting to me. This was a topic I did not know I needed more on, but am so glad I read this. While I don't watch much reality television, I know many people who do so now I have fun facts to share with them when they mention shows. Nussbaum peeked into every corner and aspect of reality tv - down to the assistants and camera people. 

Highly recommend to anyone who watches TV! I gained a new appreciation for those on and off camera. 

This one is for the teens (current and past) who could not figure out who they were because their religion was suppressing them. And for the queers who went to church camp. 

This was a fun story! The characters were funny and the dialogue made me laugh. I felt very seen by this book and it healed a little bit of teen Megan. 

The romance in this felt a little unnecessary for me, but it was still cute. 

The chokehold this book had me in! This is age gap done RIGHT. You've got Hark, a grumpy finance guy in his 30s, and Maya, a nerdy researcher in her early 20s. The tension between these two was undeniable and I could not get enough of the forbidden love. Also - the setting in Sicily is perfection. 

My favorite Ali book! I loved it.

Bui details her complex family history, with her parents growing up in times of turmoil, getting married, then leaving Vietnam via boat. It’s interesting how Bui shares her family history asynchronously.

This is a beautifully narrated heartbreaking story of family, trauma, and finding yourself both within and beyond that trauma.

Highly recommend!

I was gripped by this story! The storytelling format is so unique and well done. I love how we have this third-person omniscient narrator giving us the play by play of the main characters' lives. Very queer and very good!
