uh oh, the story got confusing again. but, I can say for once that I really enjoyed some of the art in this!
14 issues in and I can say that this one has left me incredibly emotional. Heartbreakingly beautiful in so many ways. going to be so sad to read the final one.
as it stands, I am torn between rating this volume 3 or 5 stars. for many reasons. can't say this has ever happened to me.
I read chapter 4 and thought to myself "wow this is ending so nicely"

THIS WAS THE BEST THING EVER
the main photo is so misleading I literally can’t. Here I was really expecting something like blood bank lmao. The promo pictures are all really sexual and I don’t know why lol. There’s even one photo that looks like a vampire orgy and literally one of the people is a half vampire and another one is the protagonists dad. Also I picked up this on the title alone and I didn’t realise it was about vampires. I thought they meant an actual bat. Killing stalking style. Safe to say I was very mislead with what this one was about.
But this. Omg this.
The characters are so likeable and sweet and you love every single one of them like I have no idea how I did but I’ve left this feeling attached to even the shittiest of personalities and I want to hug them all. The main relationship was so sweet and raw and heartbreaking, and importantly it was so real. It was flawed, based on real anxieties and communication issues. But it was sweet and their love felt so so real.
This is such a beautiful coming of age story. It’s not sexually explicit at all (bar a few issues which was done very lightly) and I’m quite glad of that choice. It just added to the sense of naivety and uGH. so many tiny little arcs that I loved omg, seeing the characters grow made my heart scream. So many of the characters really did grow and develop incredibly well with their own lessons to learn.
(Also important news I am really bad with names but the idiot guy that dated min first is HOT bye)

EDIT 21/2 - I’ve seen the anime.
Oh god. This makes me miss the manga. I’m not even joking. 10x more rapey, genuinely miss the quality of the manga art and tHE PLOT PACING ... IS SHOCKINGLY BAD. It kind of confirms to me that the manga could have been a bit worse in some respects, but it certainly makes me like it even less. Honestly this whole premise was doomed from the start. I’m ending this at episode 3, genuinely would have been episode 1 if I didn’t have a 3 episode rule. Big fat avoid from me.
