The vampires are quite secondary and I didn't like the writing style. Personally, I found it hard to fully immerse myself in the book.

I didnr particularly love the academic lectures and I had to return it to the library.

Maybe I'll return to this someday, but I didn't really like the writing style.

Wasn't that into it. Plus didn't love the big "she's Black!" reveal. Why did that have to be a big reveal and not just part of the book to begin with?

Wasn't super engaged throughout the reading and didn't finish before the last meeting of WPLC book club discussing this book.
