After that ending in Crossed Over, I had so many questions and just knew False Start was going to take me on an emotional journey and boy did it, rollercoaster for sure. This book hits on the deep and heavy topic of active addiction, ODing and the effects it takes on loved ones, pleasssse make sure to check those trigger warnings. 

Nia is still fighting her demons but somehow Harvey broke through and seems to settle her soul in a way no one else can. Harvey and Nia deserved to be together, after everything, they deserved all the love. I loved the found family Nia found with Kade and the other skaters, it was just what she needed to heal the parts of her that were broken. 

The growth of the characters was absolutely phenomenal. This book will hit you in your feels, it is deep, it is raw, it is emotional, it will shatter your heart but by the end hopefully it will be put back together again.

I love this series so much and the brothers just get better and better. 

Jude will do anything for the ones he loves an he has secretly loved his best friend Sadie for years. When she finds herself in a jam with her family farm, he comes to the rescue to save her, as his brothers call him the knight in shining armor. 

Sadie is such a strong fierce FMC. She has secretly loved Jude for years as well and is torn on letting him help her without letting her feelings get in the way. Ultimately she gives in and watching them come to terms with their feelings and telling each other was so beautiful. 

I loved these two so much. Their chemistry was amazing, their bond unbreakable and their love was beautiful. They are soul mates no doubt about it. I loved the family support and the whole small town love as well.

I can't wait for Emmetts story! He's always been shown as the crazy funny younger brother so I'm excited to see how his story plays out.

I think Emerson has stolen the top spot for my favorite book boyfriend that Jenni has written. I loved everything about this man, his quirkiness, they way that he is unafraid to be himself, the way that he cares for the ones he loves. He is top tier!!! In all honesty, I loved both Gi and Em! They were both so relatable and lovable, it's just hard not to. 

Ever since Em first meet Gi, he's been attracted to her but once she moves in with him, his feelings grow stronger and stronger for her. I loved the way that he showed how he cared for her, always making her laugh, cooking for her and can we talk about the way that man worshiped Gi's body!! I absolutely loved that so much and he helped her become more comfortable and confident in her own skin. 

Gi was such a strong fierce woman. I loved her personality and vibes so much. She took nothing from no one and knew how to defend her self (ughhhh Jake ewww 😤) even after that whole fiasco she knew what she deserved and would settle for nothing short of that. I loved watching these two fall in love and how both of them grew as individuals but even stronger as a couple. 

I loved the appearances we got of Dylan, Cortney and Beck from the MomCom series in here. I can't wait for more in this series!

I don't even know where to start with this. I do want to start by saying just like with previous books in the series, READ THOSE TRIGGER WARNINGS!!! It's not dark dark buuuuuuuut it does get dark.

This grabbed me in and I was taken on a ride, a smut filled glorious ride none the less!!! It had so much going on but to keep out any spoilers and goodness for others to enjoy, I will try to limit what I say. 

This was completely different than the first two in the series but it was a good different. It had growth of characters, amazing love story and tears, sooooo many tears!

I can not say enough great things about this series!!! Can't wait to see what happens in the North with the continuation of the Compass Series

When we were first introduced to Caleb in Nate's story he was happy, crazy at times and the life of the party but from the ending in the previous book, Power Play Rivals, you just knew this book was going to be heartbreaking. Caleb is shown in such a different light that it's hard to remember that he use to be this happy person. 

Caleb is use to his big brother Jack, picking up his messes but now Caleb is left with the mess, grief and guilt after a devastating accident that involved him and his brother. He is spiraling out of control and his team/friends are extremely worried for him. They give him an ultimatum, get help or else. 

The way Caleb was so lost and broken was heartbreaking but he showed up everyday for Jack's wife, Erin and his nieces. The way that he was with them you could see that there was still the old Caleb under all the hurt and grief currently on the surface. 

Roxanne is no stranger to grief but she has had the ability to move on until Hurricane Caleb comes barreling into her life and brought up old wounds. She has to navigate her growing feelings while also helping him out of his trauma and grief. 

Caleb was so hesitant at first but Roxie was able to break through his barriers. She is the perfect match for him, she was able to have him open up and find himself again. They were both so damaged but they ended up helping heal each other. 

That ending 😭  that ending was perfection 😍

Aurora is such a fun FMC. She is smart, funny, has great humor and banter with everyone. She is at a point in her life that she feels like she is at the lowest point and a bit lost. Somehow she finds herself the new co-owner of a Chateau and with that she ends up finding herself in the process.

Jean-Luc has lived his life in Carcen and wants to keep the Chateau. He is so sweet, is just as good at dishing out the pranks to Rory and is the perfect book boyfriend. The pranks were absolutely hilarious 🤣 

These two clash at first but over time they begin to have feelings and have some really cute moments together. This was such a cute, funny heartwarming story and I'll be looking into reading more from this author in the future.

Creek was an army explosives and ammunition expert in the army until the mistake of another cost him his leg and his army career. Heath was a pro surfer who had everything he could have wanted until a drunk driver laid his bike down and he lost his leg, taking his surfing career with it. 

These two meet while doing PT and Creek has an automatic dislike for Heath because he is always so happy and sunshine. It takes awhile for these two to break through the barriers they both had up but once they did it was beautiful. 

They both had to come to terms with their disability and what it meant for their lives moving forward. It was an emotional journey they took you on through their grief and healing. There was so many emotions going on in their story, grief, sadness, trust, hurt, healing and so much more. Such a wonderful beautiful start to the series.

From the prologue your attention is drawn in and you are sucked in all the way up to the end to find out what happened that night. Completely devoured this book. 

Catherine is a high school teacher, married to the mayor and hiding a dark secret. Wilder is her student, social media influencer and saw her at one of her darkest moments. 

What started out as innocent help with an assignment, quickly turned into both having feelings for each other. Catherine was so strong for what she went through and Wilder wanted to do everything in his power to protect her. 

These two had such intense chemistry and it only got stronger as the book went on. Wilder may seem like this sweet, golden retriever type of man but when it comes to the ones he loves, he will stop at nothing to protect them. Loved these two so much and can't wait for more in the series.

I was looking forward to more on these two after reading Stix and Stone and they did not disappoint. 

Both boys had a pretty traumatic childhood but Sam carries the weight of it a bit more than Nate does. Before he was taken to foster care where he met Nate, he had some pretty horrific things happen to him. Once Sam came into his foster home, his trauma continued but Nate was there to lessen the pain a bit.

There has been once constant in their lives, each other. They both have some pretty strong feelings for each other but are afraid that they are oing to lose each other and knows that they won't be able to survive that so they keep their feelings under lock and key until things begin to change for them.  

This was such an intense heart shattering ride they took me on. The way the the past was woven so well into the present for these boys was a beautiful thing. I loved these boys so much and so happy that they found the love and happiness they deserve.
