Gates is a very impulsive 40 year old man-child who, in the past, used to run from the consequences of his actions but is doing his best to be a better person now. Tallahassee just happens to be secretly married to the mess that is Gates and has the patience of a saint when it comes to his husband, even though they haven’t actually been together since their wedding 8 years ago. Gates also happens to be the brother of Tallahassee’s best friend so things between them are somewhat complicated.
Circumstances have them living under the same roof and their relationship goes from strained to cordial to the odd kiss sneaking in here and there. The chemistry between them is still sizzling hot and eventually they give in to it and the heat level rises as does the feelings they have for each other. There is some angst in regard to keeping the secret from Gates’ brother and in regard to a medical issue pertaining to Gates but nothing that can derail a longed for HEA for these to loveable characters.
I found this to be a really enjoyable read with a great cast of main and secondary characters with an engaging plot that left me smiling at the end. I look forward to more in the series.

What a ride this was. From the prologue to the epilogue and every page in between.
Duke is 50, a hired killer and runs a construction company with his father. Kelly is in his thirties, a school teacher by day and by night he is the handler for Duke. Naturally they don’t know each other and have never met, until Duke is asked by a third party to take care of a target. A target that happens to be Kelly.
So begins a very enjoyable and intriguing plot that had me reading the book in one sitting. There’s multiple twists and turns along the way to keep things interesting and a great cast of side characters that either help or hinder Duke and Kelly as they unravel the truth. With all this action and danger swirling around them they also manage to explore the connection between them. After negotiating all of this they do find their way to a peaceful HEA which left me smiling.

Nothing is ever truly straightforward for Royce and Sawyer. They are still crazy in love, sorting out their wedding and thriving professionally. What remains unresolved are conflicts they each have in their lives, conflicts that finally get laid to rest and expelled from their lives.
Royce is busy investigating a homicide that throws up numerous unexpected and intriguing twists and turns. Sawyer finds himself busy with his cold cases and also encountering an unexpected turn of events at the local hardware store. Through all of this they still manage to set important wedding goals, including the all important cake tasting. Short and sweet tender moments are snatched when possible and longer steamy moments are far from neglected!
I found this to be a very engaging and enthralling read that I couldn’t put down. Once again the balance between police investigations and romance is done extremely well. It flows along perfectly with a very interesting and intriguing plot and a wonderful cast of main and secondary characters.
This is a must read for all the Royce and Sawyer aficionado’s out there.
