WOW! Another fantastic Irons and Works book

Once again E.M Lindsey has given us another fantastic instalment in the Irons and Works series. This is book 5 but can be read as a stand-alone. The characters from the previous books are also in this one.

Mat and Wyatt’s story is superbly written with highly developed complex characters. It flowed along nicely and I was engaged from the very first page.
I was eagerly awaiting their story and I was not let down.

Mat and Wyatt had both been let down and rejected for who they were by their families. They both had numerous obstacles to overcome when their lives, separately, fell apart.

Wyatt’s life fell apart with the end of his10yr marriage, lose of his job, death of his guide dog and a selfish family.
Mat’s life fell apart with a life changing accident that left him with a brain injury and destroyed his medical career and his marriage.
With chosen family standing with them, after a few bumps along the way, they do get their HEA.
I especially loved the Tombstone movie references and the cheesy French pick up lines all throughout the book!
I highly recommend this book and the whole series - it’s amazing.

When I think of this book the word “real” immediately springs to mind.
A “real” American small town where homophobia exists and causes pain and fear.
A “real” romance that’s about the family and what it takes to blend new love and a family together.
Emotions that are all too “real” when it comes to love, loss, grief and moving on.
This a a brilliantly written, descriptive, engaging, heartfelt character driven plot with excellent pacing. Wesley and Travis are complex and not without flaws. It’s not an easy path by any stretch of the imagination but they do eventually get their HEA. The cast of secondary characters are vital to the story and each get a POV at some stage throughout the book.
This is slow burn romance, where apart from a kiss or two, the sex is all off page.
