HOLY. SHIT.

Geez the reviews for this are kinda all over the place but I had a DAMN GOOD TIME! I was invested from the start and honestly didn’t find the pacing slow, I was super interested by the new world-building and the relationship between Zetian and Qin Zheng was DE-LIC-IOUS!!!!! One of my faves of the year idc I’ll go to bat for this series

THIS WAS A FREAKING DELIGHT! Wow. I didn’t have much expectations for this other than the blurb sounded like a swell time, but that’s an understatement! Who woulda thunk the apocalypse would be SO MUCH FUN?

This book was somehow completely hilarious and wacky while also being deeply emotional and SOUL-CRUSHING. I was cackling, giggling, kicking my feet one moment and then literally questioning my existence and sobbing the next. SO GOOD???? Wren and Theo were adorable together (I LOVE me a royal prince love interest) and there were some surprisingly insightful stuff in here about mental health, anxiety and family.

PLUS THERE’S AN APOCALYPSE DOG. Nuff said. (Ruff said?? Too much?)

I will say that I can’t yet tell if there’s a sequel to this and if there isn’t, WHY?? HOW??? With the way this ended, it’d be an actual felony to leave me like this, so I’m hoping there is one. Truly had such a great time reading this and will now foist it on every person I come into contact with.

Naina Kumar with back-to-back winners! She has already become an author I’ll continuously look forward to new books from; her stories bring me so much joy! I love second-chance romance and this was so much fun. Both Meena and Nikhil were lovely to read about and I loved seeing them grow back together under some stressful circumstances. Very funny and heartfelt. 100% chance of a 5 star review!
