Great guide and I appreciate the shopping lists and recipes. I felt great for the week I was able to do this (between travelling which I do a lot of). I'm going to try a full 30 days when I have a consecutive 30 days to do so.

4 stars only because the first 500 pages dragged and dragged and dragged... The second half of the book was so thrilling and intense; why not spread that out? That being said, some of the most severe plot twists of the whole series so far happened in this book. Also some of my favorite Claire and Jamie moments occurred. Can't wait to start book 6, but I have to wait till March!

An incredibly quick and easy read, which was great coming off of The Fiery Cross. The writing style left much to be desired, but it grew on me. (Also I think my writing style would be similar if I ever could finish a book). I was concerned based on the back cover that this book would poke at my anxieties and how I constantly think about how my life would be different if I had done this or this or made this choice...but it turns out this book was very uplifting and reassuring, in addition to just being a simple and pleasing read. Definitely recommend for something lighthearted and fast.

I loved the clean writing style of Irmgard's story. I have read a lot of historical fiction about growing up in Nazi Germany but nothing real, and I appreciated her descriptions of her upbringing so close to Hitler and what it was like for a normal German family who wasn't diehard Nazi but also wasn't anti-Nazi. Great read.
