I loved the clean writing style of Irmgard's story. I have read a lot of historical fiction about growing up in Nazi Germany but nothing real, and I appreciated her descriptions of her upbringing so close to Hitler and what it was like for a normal German family who wasn't diehard Nazi but also wasn't anti-Nazi. Great read.
