Very unique artwork. Not my favorite story, but cute all the same.

Really did not enjoy this version.

I LOVED this adorable book. The story was charmingly written. And the expressions on the faces of all the characters were hilarious!

Another favorite from when I was little that I had completely forgotten about! I loved Gloria and I loved all of Officer Buckle's safety tips.

Didn't love this one - not enough there.

I've loved these comics since I discovered Beaton's website back in college. The book has all of my favorites plus some I hadn't seen yet!

Listened to this one and I LOVED the narrator. And I just flat out loved this book. Initially I may have thought it was going to be too long, but I ended up loving all of the little details. It made me feel so connected to the book and the characters, even to Simon and Baz. I think because I grew up with Harry Potter and with loving Harry Potter beyond anything my friends understood I related a ton to Cath, even though I didn't write fanfic. I fell in love with Levi and he reminds me so much of my fiancМ©. I was afraid I would get bored with the twins' dad's storyline, but again, the details are what made me truly love this book. I would recommend for any reader, especially my blogger readers, or any HP fans who have a bit of an open mind. I wish she would write a sequel!!!

Parts of this story I truly enjoyed, but most I did not. June and Day's relationship bugged me - mostly because despite being a teenager, June still seems too logical for her behavior. Also, I remember not truly feeling like they ever had the powerful moments together in Legend to justify their feelings for each other in this book.

The first half really dragged, but the 2nd half grabbed my attention. I really appreciate that Lu actually considers what is happening in the rest of the world in her dystopian novel. I also think (in my own opinion) that Lu does a great job of showing how there isn't one side that is right or wrong in this world. Sometimes you're choosing between 2 evils. Suzanne Collins does this in Mockingjay, but it didn't sell as well to me.

A couple of scenes with June and Day particularly bugged me - the main one being their fight in the tunnels. It felt very empty and emotionless, although Day said some incredibly hurtful and hateful things. Then 2 minutes later, June, this magnificently strong and independent girl, is in the room with him helping him learn to fight, comforting him, and forgiving him. I don't know why, but that whole situation really rubbed me the wrong way.

I love this simple, fun story. The movements are fun to recreate with my young music students, and it has helped me demonstrate making our line at the door!
