Ok, my star rating for this book is based on how well I think Rowling wrote it, not how much I liked it. Ok.

Ok, I was gonna make a vlog about this one but decided I just don't have the time. My initial reaction upon finishing the book was, what? Did I just read a soap opera? Even better, it felt like I was watching a terrible, depressing reality show that just ended when somebody died but not when any of the problems were solved. Seriously. It just ended.
What Rowling did FANTASTICALLY was glide so smoothly between characters and POVs throughout the novel. It was seamless and interesting and she wrote each character perfectly to fit all of their strange personalities.
I think I would have liked the story better if there was a single character I liked (there wasn't) or one family who seemed happy in the slightest.

It was a tough read but I'm glad I did. I guess. I still just don't know how I feel about it! What was the point of that book?????

I just was unimpressed with this book. While the author had some excellent prose, it felt like she had to spend 3 pages describing what and why she was going to say something before she said it, and I just got bored.
I don't know. The setting was somewhat original, although the plot and theme were not, and I think just after reading books that blew me away like Divergent and The Uglies, it was hard not to compare.
Still reading the second one.

Oh my God. I LOVED this book!!!!

I LOVED that the entire story wasn't based around some girl falling in love with some boy and they're torn apart by some twisted fate or plot or world....except this did sort of happen. But the IMPORTANT thing is that the love story WASN'T the most important part of the book!

All of the writing was so vivid and fascinating and appealing. I loved the settings, I loved the characters, I LOVED Karou. I ESPECIALLY loved listening to this book - the reader was fantastic and I'll never be able to read a hard copy without imagining her voices in my head. Especially for Brimstone.

I was so so so so so so grateful to be reading such a wonderfully written young adult (although there's some pretty steamy PG-13 stuff which was refreshing after so many gooey YA novels) book that had more to it than boy meets girl, they fall in love, they are torn apart, then get back together, yada yada. You didn't even know about the love story until 3/4 of the way through the book!

READ IT. So. good. I'm glad I finished it so close to book 2's release because I'm dying!

This whole book I just kept asking people who had read it how there could possibly be a twist. Other than the obvious twist which I just kept telling myself would never happen. Then what would be the point of the whole book?

So I was absolutely ENTHRALLED with this book once I dragged myself through the first 100 pages. While Pi's 3 religions were interesting, I never felt that they became relevant enough to his plight to have spent 100 PAGES on them at the start. Until the very freaking end with the twist that is.
The imagery was fantastic, the story itself remained gripping even though I kept thinking what else could there be to write about? He floated around on the ocean and eventually survived. I loved the island with the meerkats, and it broke my heart when he decided to leave.
But then THE END. I couldn't take it. It was one of those books that I closed and literally threw on the couch and walked away. Seriously? Maybe after a day or two of thinking about it it'll grow on me but right now I'm at the point of total despair. He had to invent that whole life for himself to make himself feel better about his situation? I don't begrudge him that but it makes me so depressed. I want to believe the story about the tiger. That's what I want. Done.

I loved this book at least as much as the first. I love Condie's writing style. I love her thoughtful and beautifully written characters.
I think what really made this book great for me is the care she took with making the characters truly dynamic. I won't include spoilers in this particular review, but Ky and Cassia must question what they are truly willing to do for the other.

This book is so so so so so far above the first in the series. It is infinitely more exciting, interesting, and well-written. Alternating between Then and Now made the story move along even when there wasn't as much happening. I think that is what was missing from Delirium - there were chunks when I was just uninterested in the story. Sometimes in novels that alternate time or POV I find that I care more about one mini-plot than the other, but I was completely involved in each story with Pandemonium.

The action was constant and thrilling, and I LOVED the ending. RIGHT UP UNTIL THE LAST PAGE. AHHHHHHHH.

This book took me until about halfway through to really get in to. First off, it was really difficult remember important points from the previous books since it's been since June or July since I read the first two. It would have been nice to have a few more clues as to characters or situations from the other books because just small mentions were enough to make me feel like I was missing something important but didn't want to take the time to rifle through Matched or Crossed to figure out what it was.
This was also the first book in the trilogy where I started having trouble keeping track of POVs as other reviewers have mentioned. The characters seemed to have the exactly same view of the world and way of thinking in general.
HOWEVER, as soon as I really got into the search for the cure I couldn't put Reached down. My heart ached for Xander and for Cassia as well.
I'm a little skeptical about the fact that it seemed as though every person ever mentioned ended up getting to know one another or somehow being involved in really really important ways in the plot. Xander, Cassia, and Ky all were taken notice of by the Pilot in different ways. You're telling me there was no one else in all of Society with similar traits to any one of them? And while Nea Lei's surprise at the end was a beautiful twist, it was in my opinion a stretch and just a way to tie up what wasn't really even a loose end with Vick.
I do love Condie's writing style. The imagery is beautiful and every sentence and thought is poetry in itself. This was a conclusive and satisfying end to a great series.

This book was quick and cute. Ginny grew on me by the end, although we're nothing alike.

I knew there were people who really didn't like the novel simply because she is an underage girl traveling Europe alone with no contact to home. And her parents are just cool with it. Yes, this is ridiculous. No, it shouldn't have happened. She could have been 'taken' or any number of other unspeakable things could have happened to her and it was unreasonable that she should have no safety lines. However, this is a novel. And it's cute. And the story is fun. So you have to take it as is and just accept that there are things to enjoy and ignore some of the more distracting dangerous moments where really terrible things could have happened.

Wish I had book 2 here so I could go ahead and start it. May just buy on kindle.

Didn't enjoy as much as the first, but it did have some great surprises! I didn't want to like Zane but I loved him by the end. I wish we had seen a little more of the New Smoke before the book ended and I'm a little nervous that Specials is going to be exactly like the first half of Pretties: Tally not remembering who she is and having to rediscover herself. We'll see.
