Even though this is a quite grusome retelling of Alice in Wonderland, I did quite enjoy this story. Throughout I did have a few troubles following the thought process of both Alice and Hatcher an I thought the ending was a little underwhelming after being hyped up from the start.

Nonetheless, I will probably pick up the second book in the series to see how things develop :)

Wow! I really didn’t expect to enjoy this book so much! Especially because I listened to the audiobook which is usually a hit or miss for me!

I really enjoyed the main characters and how the story took turns with stories from the past and the present. However, I would not classify this book as a thriller but instead more of a mystery (?). I was really engaged in finding out what would be happening in the end but it was not per se ‚thrilling‘ or at least not for my understanding of the term. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed the characters and the story, especially the reveal at the end!

I watched the show recently and while at first it was curiousity that made me continue, I was quickly quite invested in the series and the characters. This book (or short story ?) gave a little more background to the story and I found it fun to read a little bit more about the world that 'Severance' is set in!

I really can't wait for season two!

I really enjoyed the book and the story about Maggie finding out what actually happened in the ‘House of Horrors’. Even though I was able to figure out a few of the plot points I was still surprised by the big reveal and quite enjoyed the ending which is typically how I feel about Riley Sagers stories.

However I probably could have done with a slightly shorter book. The time it took to get to the real action was a little too long in my opinion. But the ending made it worth it for me.

I really enjoyed the book! For me however the first few chapters were a little slow and it took me a little to really be invested in the story. But overall the ending made it worth it! Because you start suspecting everyone and trust no one completely which is something I really enjoy in a Thriller! :)

I really liked to get to read more about all the characters. That’s what so really like about Karon Slaughter‘s writing. You feel like you know the main characters quite well!

Also the story - while very disturbing when you get to know all the details - was very interesting and I really wanted to hug all of them to say it’s going to be okay.

I will definitely continue this series as soon as I can get my hands on the third book!

Nice premise but it was a little too short for me. I couldn’t really connect to any of the characters. Also I guess it was too much fantasy for me - I was hoping for a thriller with fantastical elements. But I see how others could enjoy this!

So, usually historical fiction is not my go-to genre when it comes to books. But this one was reccomended by so many people that I decided I would give it a try. And I do have to say it didn't dissapoint! I really enjoyed listening to Evelyns story and find out a little more about our other protagonist alongside.

Even though the story was not per se "thrilling" I was very curious to find out more about her life just because I enjoyed the writing so much. SO, I will Additionally, I can definetly recommend this as an audiobook as well. I did quite like the narrator and wasn't confused by too many main characters and storylines.

Wow! I did have quite high hopes for this book because of so many great reviews. But still I was surprised by how much I enjoyed it!

I absolutely didn’t expect any of the twists and really enjoyed the writing style! I will definitely check out what else Layne Fargo wrote/will write!

This story is about Oliver who just got out of jail who might have not actually committed the crime he was convicted for. After the ten years he starts telling the proper story about everything that happened at the elite acting school where he and his friends were studying Shakespeare all these years ago.

Sadly, I didn’t enjoy this book. Probably could have guessed that I wouldn’t enjoy the amount of references to Shakespeare since I haven’t read or seen any of his plays/books. But I decided to give it a chance because I usually enjoy dark academia.

This book however just really didn’t do it for me. I didn’t really care about any of the characters and was rather annoyed by the lengthy parts of Shakespeare references and description of the plays the characters performed. Also the mystery didn’t really get me. It just felt too lengthy and not thrilling for me to be invested in the reveal.

However, I am sure there is an audience for this type of book and I probably just shouldn’t have picked this up knowing that there was a big chance of me not liking it. So, if the premise still sounds interesting to you go ahead! You might enjoy the story as many others did!
