Taking this out of my reading list bc I will never pick this up again.
Def had it’s ups and downs getting my interest and attention. The story is GREAT, and from time to time I had to remind myself it was written in 1949 bc it feels so damn futuristic. I really liked it!! Would I read it again? Maybe, 10 years from now ✨ I’m excited to see what my future self thinks of it.
It is just breezy ✨ I am a huge potterhead an this review is obviously biased but I really liked it. It is written, in my opinion, for a younger crowd than me, but I grew up watching him play the bad guy, the mean guy, in one of my favorite sagas and ofc I would grab it from the shelve as a sauvage. It’s funny, easy to read, gives u a glance of the life of a child actor in Britain and it has all the harry potter magic all over it ✨
This is a book I would read a second and third time. The way the author talks about all the injustices, and white priviledge in Britain’s history is brilliant and very eye opening. I am going to recommend this one to every friend, reading relative etc.
I need to say my expectations were really high about this novel as I kept seeing it on booktok and goodreads lists but honestly those expectations were not fulfilled. It is entertaining, for sure, but from time to time I felt the jumps between the games, the spoilers, the flashbacks and the current time were not really distinctive so I had to constantly go back and forward to understand what was happening.
For sure, the death of Marx was a huge thing but I felt it was kind of forced/happened just for the sake of making it more dramatic. I also had trouble relating/liking Sam and Sadie, I guess that's part of the point of the book, but definitely not my cup of tea.
Also... Dov ??? What an asshole.
Anyway, it is a nice novel to start the year with but I don't see myself reading this a second time.

DNF. I couldn't relate to the narrator/main character so I won't be wasting more time having it in here as I already removed it from my kindle. bye.
I started reading what seems like a weird fucked up copy of The Final Girls Support Group and it ended up having this book inside instead. I have to say this is THRILLING AND SUPER ENGAGING. I was hooked from the beginning… but always thinking it didn’t make any sense with the title of the book. Ended up clearing that up thanks to google
DNF — Not what I was looking for.
