I loved this book!

You always know that you are going to get a great story when you read a K Bromberg, and this one was no exception.

Cuffed is a friends to lovers book, which is one of my guilty pleasures, however this couple are slightly different.

We meet the 2 main characters later on in life, one is a sexy cop and the other is a sky diving instructor who is surprisingly the female of the 2.

Grant Malone used to play with Emmy Reeves when he was little, they were actually best friends and went to school together, however something that Grant did ended their friendship for life.

After moving back to the town 20 years later, Emmy keeps her distance from Grant, but he is having none of it.

I loved the characters in this book, Emmy has a lot of demons and I liked the fact that it is her that has the relationship issues, and not the man as usual.

Although this didn't have many graphic descriptions in the book, it may (for some) be a possible trigger. 

Narration was great, duel narration from the sexy voiced Joe Arden (swoon) and the always fabulous Maxine Mitchell, who did a stellar job with an also very swoonsome male voice.

4.5* read  

So I really wanted to like this one, no LOVE it!!

But...alas......

Now I loved the Until series before (no really, I 5 starred the shit out of the 1st one) but this book has issues, I shall be touching on these issues 1 by tiiiiiny one!!

1. The time line!

 



Now, this book is about the CHILDREN of the original cast right?? correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm not......I double checked!

Asher and November (from the 1st book) have since had 4 children, all girls, all called months of the year (sigh)

Anyway in the book [b:Until Nico|18781543|Until Nico (Until, #4)|Aurora Rose Reynolds|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1398781346s/18781543.jpg|26694387] we met up with Asher and November and their brood of kids, and they were exactly that KIDS, still babies, which means now with July being 26 years old a looong time has passed, is this mentioned I hear you ask, well dear read the answer to that is......no, not once EVER.

It is not 2025 or whatever, there are no flying cars, nor as it happens is there anything new, July rides a crappy motorbike and Wes rides some sort of Harley thing, we are just supposed to not remember that.


2 . Wes

 

Now look, lurve an alpha male in a book, sheesh I've even hunted them out to read, but Wes is a law unto himself.

After tasering Wes (yep you read that right) July meets his "mint ice cream eyes" and notices his hotness, okay okay I can go with that, I've known people that were complete dicks, but still hot to look at.
He proceeds to call her a bitch (fair enough she did just taser him!) but this goes on AND ON!!

Anyway they get it on (obviously) and he turns into an alpha douche, walking into her work place and just shutting the door and demanding she takes off her clothes to bend he over the table to "spank her ass" as he was pissed with her about something, it's not an "oh my god that's hot" way, although he does give her a mind blowing orgasm (again) ya know, so who am I to complain??


3. July

 

Now I'm not saying that July is a pushover, but after a week or so a of seeing Wes he has a key do her house, okay moving a little fast I hear you say?? Yes you would think that, however she DIDN'T GIVE HIM THE KEY HE STOLE IT, well took it from her keyring actually, she asked him, mentioned that he wasn't given it, he proceeded to use jedi fucking mind tricks on her avoiding the question, and that was it!
After that he pretty much moves all of his shit in the house and she's fine with it!


4. July's Super Vagina

 

I mean this girl must have a Vag of steel the amount of times it gets pounded, I'm sure she's probably got a bag of frozen peas shoved down her pants when Wes leaves her alone (which is very rare)

Also the whole "Who's pussy is this, who do these perfect tits belong to"? questions make me a little ikky, who says that in real life? If a man ever said that to me I'd be like....

 


Anywhooo, the point to this overly long rant is, I didn't like it, I'm disappointed and I'm pissed! !

So my little Chickadee friends gave me some recommendations for PNR books as I really can't seem to get into them at all.

I was firstly recommended the EIT series which I devoured and this one so I thought what the hell and tried it.

Usually any synopsis with the word vampire in it gets a huge wide berth from me, but I sucked it up (see what I did there?) and pulled up my big girl vampire panties and dived in.............AND LOVED IT!!!!

I've dived headfirst into this series and Cat & Bones have made it into one of my favourite couples!!

WTF did I just read.........I need to sit and think a while before reviewing this one!!

Also need to pop off and change my profile settings in my Facebook/Twitter/Emails etc.

Still love this series, and the audio narration was fab from Luke Daniels

So this book is a scary look into our future (maybe) if we dont sort our sh*t out!!

Basically there was a civil war about abortion rights and pro life stuff, nobody could agree on anything, and it got kinda messy for a while.

Then someone came up with a brilliant plan and everyone seems to agree with it, thus ending the civil war and begining the age of Unwinding.



Now if i was to say to you go and unwind, you would perhaps grab a book and put your feet up.....not to these kids, this is what they see when they hear the words Unwind.



Basically from the age of 13 until you are classed as an adult at 18, your parents or legal guardians can have you Unwound, legally aborted!!!!

But wait there is more......



Oh yes my friend there is much....much more!

Don't feel guilty about sending your child to be Unwound, because even though they will not be them anymore, each piece of them will be used in other people, 99.6% of your childs body parts will be re-used, just think, your little Timmy's hands could be given to a concert pianist, and you could see him performing on a big stage one day!

And don't worry about them being scared, the pepole in the Harvest Camps look after them really well, there will be a nurse with them every step of the way, because as we all know, by law they have to be awake throught the whole procedure!



Connor isn't a bad kid, not really, but he has got into trouble more than a few times, and his parents don't know what to do with him........so they sign the Unwind order......Connor doesn't want to be Unwound

Risa is a Ward of the State, an orphan, she is taking up space in the state home, so they sign the order.......Risa doesn't want to be Unwound

Lev......Well, Lev is a Tithe and he can't wait to be Unwound!!! It is what he was born for, and has been told about it his whole life, ..........Lev is excited about being Unwound!



We havent't even touched on other subjects like Storking....



Or even Clappers!



But i think you will have to read the book for that, as everything is not as it seems............

WHAT !!!! No Wait?!?! That's it ????? I'm sorry but it can't just finish like that...... come on !!!!!!!!

Holy crap bags Batman this book is sooo good.
I mean this is actually a bump into someone on purpose, just to be able to talk to someone about it good.

So this is a normal little girls story. We shall call her Ruby.

Now Ruby is just about to have her 10th birthday and dang it, she manages to wipe her parents memories just by giving them a kiss on their cheeks as they are sleeping.
Ruby is an Orange! !!

Kids are basically dropping dead around about 10yrs old and up, not all of them do though and they develop these powers that range from electricity to mind control.

So, after they report a stranger ( but not really ) in their kitchen, Rubys parents ship her off to a camp to "help" her to get better.

The camps are supposed to be a good thing and parents willingly send their children however the kids are treated like cattle.
Depending on the power they are put into groups green, yellow, orange blue and red.

After escaping from the camp Ruby meets up with Chubs, Zu and Liam (swoon).
These guys are amazing and their friendship blooms before our eyes.

This book is filled with everything, friendship, love, loss and betrayal.

Dear lord, please forgive me, for i have sinned, I have never been to confession, but if i could meet up with Father Bell there, i just might well do 😇

I originally read this book a year or so ago, but it didn't seem to have the impact that the audio book had!!

Lets just get to the narrators, Jacob Morgan.

Now, as you may (or may not) already know, Jacob is a psudonym used by another famous narrator, i won't blab about it here because he obviously uses it for a reason, but his voice literally turns me into goo, a big puddle of goo 🔥

Elena Wolfe, again is a psudonym for another fantastic narrator, both of these people are 2 of my absolute favourites, her male voice is one of the sexiest around in my opinion, and teamed together with Sierra Simone's writing I am certainly invested in this pair!

The Story

Sierra Simone is certainly the Queen of sexy stories, if you haven't tried her out then I would definitely recommend her.

**Fair Warning, this is not a book to be reading if you are of the religious variety, it is something that will probably have you going to confession for reading it!**

Tyler Bell is handsome, 29 years old and is a Priest he has been for three years. Before that he was a normal everyday man, he's been to college and been around the block if you know what I mean?

There are reasons for him becoming a priest but spoilers people!

Poppy Danforth comes to confession one day, sits in the booth, and confesses her sins as any normal person does.
She comes from a privileged background, but after something happens she decides to give that life up, again spoilers people!

Her confessions are shall we say, a little dark, this intrigues Father Bell and he starts to get a little obsessed with her.

This book is sexy, very very sexy (Sierra Simone you dirty dirty girl 😘), however it isn't all about the sex!
There a brilliant story within the pages, you have to watch as Father Bell struggles with his beliefs, and it is sometimes really sad to read.

This little story will set your Kindle on fire, if you are listening to the audio (highly recommended by the way) then make sure you have those earbuds firmly in!

Holy steaming panties Batman!

This book was HOT and I loved it.

I loved all of the characters especially David and Ev
This didn't have the usual boring "oh he looked at little ol me" Mary Sue in it, Ev can look after herself........well sort of!

Now I'm not sure about you other girls but this kind of thing happens to me all the time............. Yeah it does to you too, look at you, I can see you grinning from here

But obviously we can't talk about it........Lawyers eh!!

So reading this was a little bit like reading my Saturday night a few weeks ago, I mean I have to calm down, I'm getting old and I'm on my 4th annulment this year! !!

Let me see the similarities

Ev pops off to Vegas with her friend ( check )and has a few to many tequilas ( check ), after that she can't remember anything( check ).......wakes up in the morning with a banging head ( check ) with a massive diamond ring on her finger ( check ) and a gorgeous rockstar next to her in bed ( check )

I mean it's like Kylie Scott has been googling me or something ..........perhaps I have a stalker!!

Anyway if you want to read about me and my life, well I'm afraid you can't, I have signed a legal contract, but if you want to read this brilliant book with a great storyline, great characters and a nice bit of hot sex thrown in then be my guest.

You could just change the names I suppose it's pretty much what happened to me...........

Just finished this one, and wow.

The story was a 4·5 star for me, I love Elliot Wake's (formally Leah Raeder) writing style, and this is his first book after he has transitioned.

A very brave story as he is using his life story transitioning as the main character.

The writing as usual is brilliant, but the authors notes at the end where he writes a letter to his old self (Leah) just had me in tears.

"I wasn’t sure I’d ever get to write this, to open my eyes and wake up as Elliot. But you carried us both here. You spent your whole life shouldering both of our burdens. I’ve got this now, Leah. You can rest. Thank you for holding on until I was ready."
