Ok, picture the scene..........
You decide to treat yourself and order yourself a lovely takeaway, your absolute favorite, mine would be Chinese.........yummmmm
BUT you sit there for over an hour , waiting for the bloody thing to arrive, and then when it does you realize that you have gone past the hunger and you just sort of pick at it? I mean you enjoy it, but it's not the same as shoving it down your throat and saying mmmmm mmmm between every bite.
And then to top it all off the bloody idiots have forgotten the chips !!!!
Well that's how i felt about this book, to be honest i wasn't that fussed on the first one really, i was really looking forward to it and it had sat on my TBR pile for ages, (I have to admit i am a bit of an average star rating junkie, more that a 4 i'm in!)
Sooooo, the book sort of starts up just after the other one had finished, but again it really doesn't explain the whole faction thing, i mean why can't you be truthful, kind, clever and wreckless at the same time? why does this make you a bad person, why is there a need to wipe out these people, and what the hell does Divergent mean anyway???
The romance didn't outweigh the book too much as it does in other books, but i wish that Triss would make her mind up about whether his name is Four or Tobias, i mean just choose one for goodness sake.
So the Dauntless are once again the badass of the book and then it all goes political about the different factions and also introduces more factionless characters.
Anyway, it was an ok read, but it would have been better with chips !

Move over Tris and Tobias (Four) and make way for June and Daniel (Day).
This was SOOOOO much better than divergent in all sorts of ways, better characters, better story ………
This is a ‘who done it?’ kind of book, although it was quite easy to wok out who did it.
June is young bright (brighter than most) upper class girl who is used to hunt for the killer of her brother who she believes is a rebel called Day (Daniel).
Day, is a young lower class boy who is basically on the run but is wanted by the authorities for crimes against the government.
The book flips between Day and Junes POV which I really likes and the narration was really good with the male / female voices.
Will be reading this series with interest and can’t believe that it was in the DNF pile for TCF Monopoly.

I enjoyed this and have the others in the series to listen to, I did work it out about half way in though, although I wasn't 100%.
Not as gruesome as I thought it was going to be, I was warned to have a strong stomach (perhaps years of Stephen King have steadied me lol) But enjoyable just the same, and my 1st finished book of 2014!

I really enjoyed this book, at the beginning it was quite slow but all of a sudden it kicks in and then you are hooked.
The book focuses on 3 main characters Cecilia, Rachel and Tess.
Cecilia is like Monica from friends, super organised. Everything has its own place (she even has an app on her iPhone in case she misses something)
Her daughter is slightly obsessed with historical events, (to the point where Cecilia and her husband think she may be autistic)
This months obsession is the Berlin Wall and Mrs organisation has an actual piece of the wall upstairs in a box in the attic.
While in the attic she accidently knocks over some of her husbands paperwork and finds a letter, addressed to her but only to be opened in the event of his death but he is very much still alive ........what would you do??
Tess lives with her husband and little boy, she also owns a company with her husband and her cousin Felicity
Felicity used to be fat, really fat but has now slimmed down and is skinny and beautiful, and in love with Tess's husband.
Rachel, she has a lovely son with a gorgeous grandson who she loves dearly but has just been told that they are moving to NewYork for 2 yrs and she is devastated.
All 3 stories although separate, entwine themselves very cleverly and reveal secrets and lies between family and friends.
I thoroughly enjoyed this and have recommended it to my mum to listen to (which is a very high accolade)

Edit for re read!
Ok review for the re read of The Fault in Our Stars.
My goodness I was a sobbing mess again, Hazel (Grace) and Gus (Augustus) are the loveliest couple ever.
Yes they don't talk like normal teenagers, yes the book is slightly pretentious but Oh my God it is beautiful.
My favourite character in the book is actually Isac, he made me laugh a lot, and he didn't have much to joke about!
There are so many quotes that can be put into my review, but I won't, I will just say Okay?
Original Review
i cried like a child I am however 39 years old, quite close to 40!
I love Hazel and I am in love with Augustus, the way that he communicates with Hazel is lovely.
After reading this book I immediately went to my friend google to try and find 'the' book which of course does not exist. I'm not sure whether I'm sorry about this I would have liked to have read the book.
Sooo after rubbing my sore red eyes and blowing my nose I have decided to let everybody know about this wonderful book.
Never before has a book made me cry but there's always a first for everything and this is mine!
So reading is my favorite thing to do, although I don't read I listen and this book was a pleasure to listen to.

Ok I'm still really into this series, Marie Lu has made a wonderful series that really keeps you on the edge of your seat.
Love Day and June together in this one although June did start to wind me up a bit with her perfect counting.
I was kept listening right to the very end, THE ENDING..............talk about emotional!
Loved it and will definitely put Champion on my TBR list.

Wow is a word to use for this one.
It's not my favorite book ever but it is very good and VERY clever.
People are right in saying that you can not say too much about the plot as it will spoil it for you.
Well worth the read, and the audio was fab, get your goggles on you're in for a bumpy ride !!

Samantha is a normal teenage girl although she is one of the ones that you secretly envy……long blonde hair……blue eyes…..MONEY!
Jase Garrett lives next door and has the complete opposite of Samantha’s life
He has a huge family (8 in the house) they are loud….messy and POOR.
Samantha has sat and watched this family for 10 years from the top of her bedroom roof, her mother looks down on ‘That family’ so she has never bothered mixing with them……………until Jase climbs up to her roof and sits with her one evening.
I really liked this book and it was almost ALMOST a 5* but the ending held a few too many questions for me, I was a bit ….what …..wait IS THAT IT !!!!!
Loved all of the characters except Clay ..***shudders*** he was just creepy!
Sam and Jase together were just super cute, and George was just GORGEOUS I want to take him home.
Good story, good plot, good twist, good narration.

Mehhh is the only thing I can really say about it, I mean it was ok .... but it really didn't get going.
Even when Cole had been locked up and Broken man was on 'the run' it didn't work for me.
The exciting bits weren't that exciting and even gateway was a non excitement.
Ok for some but not for me I'm afraid.

I liked this book, it was well written mostly and I enjoyed the story.
Aria lives in a pod as well as thousands of others, they have to do this as after the Aether storms the planet was ravished, outside is now called The Death Shop.
Instead of going outside in real life they do it virtually with a smart eye attached to ......yep you guessed it their eye.
This takes them into different realms so they can experience different things and call it "Better than Real"
However there are people that live on the outside called Savages dum dum duuuummmm!
**Can you see where this is going yet?**
The Savages live in tribes run by The Blood Lord and they seem to have special abilities like extra sensory hearing and smelling.
Now when I heard the words Aether and Blood Lord together I nearly turned the book off as I had an awful feeling it was going to be another long boring book that didn't make any sense **cough cough [book:The Bone Season]** however is isn't so you can relax.
After being exciled from the pod after being set up Aria (Who sings , shock horror) wanders around nonchalantly trying to find somewhere to go, she is however nearly killed and is rescued by a Savage called Perry.
Perry is looking for his nephew who has been taken by one of the Pod people, (Moles to you and me) and Aria is looking for her mother who works at BLISS (another pod far away i think) So they link arms and skip off together to find them and to take Aria back home, although they don't link arms they hate each other.
This book was quite confusing as a lot of the words used were just left to your imagination and not described, I mean what the hell is the Aether?
Anyway as all YA books go, after a lot of anger and smoldering looks they fall for each other but not before they are nearly killed by cannibals and eaten by wolves.
I did enjoy the book and will read the others but hope that there is a bit more explanation in the next ones.
