hmm didn't realise how far I was into the book and all of a sudden it finished!

Not really on a cliffhanger but not really an ending either, I will read / listen to the next installment but I'm still not sure how to feel about this one.

Not a book that I think will be passed around my call centre as 50 shades of shite was, but I shall persevere with the 2nd one and see if I change my mind, so far though rape is not a turn on for me at all.

Ok I will go as far as to say that I was slightly looking forward to this book however it was like reading west side story, same plot same characters, same old same old.

saying that though I quite enjoyed the book it had some laugh out loud moments but I read this book thinking that it was going to make me cry and unfortunately it didn't.

as with nearly all of my books I listened to this in audio the narrators were actually very good and I really thought they did a brilliant job.

although this wasn't the best story I've ever had heard I am a sucker for love story.

so if you want boy meets girl, boy and girl hate each other, then they start to like each other then fall in love, then they are star crossed lovers as one is from the wrong side of the tracks, gasp shock horror!! then this actually would be the book for you.

so my review is actually 3 and a half stars

Wow that is a powerful book.

Ok 1st things first, this book is loonnnng I mean I listened to the audio version and it took ages, but what a ride, I have to say I didn't read it all in one go I kept going back to it.

So 2nds thigs ..umm 2nd this is not a lovely candy floss filled lovey dovey everything thing is peachy book, I mean to give you a clue the book is narrated by death!!!

I loved Papa and also Mama they were real characters and Rudy was just lovely....

This will take a while to read but it is well worth it, don't go in expecting a big happily ever after and you have a wonderful time, enjoy.

P.s you may need a few tissues near the end.........you're welcomr

Love love love this book. Currently downloading the second one in the series.
You actually don't have any idea what's going on so you actually can put yourself in thomas's shoes.
I thought all of the characters were fab and I really liked the language that they used between them, and didn't find it off putting at all.
I can't wait to find out the relationship between thomas and teresa and what is going happen to all of the glade boys.

Narrator :  really good narration actually, all of the characters sounded different and I could tell the difference between all of them.

Nadia and her brother Rabbit (Robert) are given (inherited) an injection (shot) to basically inoculate against the BlueStar virus which has basically wiped out 90% of the population - 

Their parents have died and have left them to make there own way basically across America to a safe place, on the way they meet a few people and some unsavoury characters.


All in all I enjoyed the book, I am currently reading the 5th wave and it is quite similar in the storyline.


Would I recommend it ?  yes I would it’s a nice steady easy read.

Is it my favourite read? Not my fave but I didn’t hate it.

very good but not as good as the first, still waiting for the big explanation.

I actually really enjoyed this book I thought that the characters were really well written and the narration was really good.

I was actually reading a matter of days at the same time so kept getting the two confused as they are very similar.

Loved the twist I didn't see that coming!

Definitely leaves the book open for a second one.

hmm I'm not sure in this one.
I liked it..... but I didn't ...

It's kinda like hunger games....... but it isn't.

Beatrice is a bit of a bore if I'm honest, she chooses the groovy and interesting side in her initiation and all of a sudden becomes kick ass within 2 chapters.

She makes enemies as she is the newby and the trainer of the team takes an instant interest in her... . . and then it turns into a normal YA book.

I will probably read the rest in the series but it's not my favourite ever.
