Light cute, sweet and very low angst. I enjoyed how realistic and healthy this relationship seemed, I wish there had been a touch more drama, and I wish we had like 20 more pages of Aiden and Shae having fun and getting to know each other.

Another reader friend compared Colleen Kelly's prose to Meredith Duran and that is bang on. This book is amazing for its page count in terms of angst and pining and emotional connection while also being suuuuuper sexy. It has my all time fave trope: lessons. It also has a pine tree of a rake and a really great FMC who has simply *had it* with being told what to do with her life. The love declaration in this is absolutely everything.

I am simply beside myself for Colleen Kelly's next!!

This is such a throwaway story, but my main beef is with the scene where the FMC literally sleeps all night in a bed with sheets on like IN the bed FULLY CLOTHED with her SHOES ON after three days in a carriage because she can’t untie (???) her own shoes (???). Oh and then she and the MMC have sex of course and the boots stay on. Gross.

Oh yeah, and at one point I had to read the words “turgid manhood”. 2.5 stars for emotional weather control.

This was a new-to-me author I found via stuff your ereader day and this book was a real treat. Almost as much plot as a Lynsay Sands but not quite as bananas, class difference, marriage of convenience, kidnapped and taken to Scotland. It hit all of the Scotty RoNo notes. Super cute. Will def read the next book!
