This book has a good premise, I just didn’t really connect with the characters because they aren’t fully developed in this short book. Book length and character development don’t always go hand in hand (I’ve read short books with really well developed characters and long books with underdeveloped characters), so I don’t know if this book would have been better if it was longer, but I wish there had been more time/space for things to come together. I do like the setting and the (very minimal) plot, but for a character-driven book, there just wasn’t quite enough character development or insight into the characters and their relationships. 

I usually dont read horror books, but I am always looking for books with asexual rep and I love a good story about codependent friendship that blurs the line between platonic and romantic love, so I decided to give this one a shot. It is a very strange, gory, melodramatic, confusing book (none of which are inherently good or bad qualities, it just depends on what you’re into). Some things worked for me, some things didn’t. I don’t regret reading it, but I won’t be reading it again. 

Cute book, I liked the journey CeeCee went on and I’m glad her life got so much better. Hopeful tones/themes with a found family. A few things I didn’t really like, but overall not bad. Not a book I would typically read on my own or one I’ll read again (it was for a book club), but I don’t regret reading it. 

Literally never knew what to expect next with this book. There’s a really sweet love story in there, but it’s all wrapped in so many complex layers and mysteries that kept me constantly on edge. Also really sad and dark at times. Not totally sure how to describe this book, there’s so much going on and I don’t want to give anything away.
