Great series, though I think this is the weakest book of the bunch. THAT BEING SAID. THOSE LAST TWO CHAPTERS ARE PERFECTION.
4.5 stars, rounded up.
This was wonderful. Great pacing with a fantastic, captivating plot, wonderful characters and Roland and Sairis have such great chemistry and banter. Truly this book is a delight.
My only qualm with this book is that the trans rep is a little bizarre. I don’t necessarily know that it’s bad. I do think that someone could make a case as such, but I also think that I’m not necessarily the right person to make that case.

The pacing of these books is so bizarre. As in, it’s a mystery but it’s very nearly a slice of life book. There’s large chunks of book where the mystery takes a backseat to Gideon and Lee figuring out their relationship. Additionally, there’s things this series does that I don’t care for in mysteries, but because this series is really more about Lee and Gideon and their life, it kind of works for the series?
It’s a strange mystery series. But like I said, it kind of works.

I quite liked that. Solid mystery (and I’m picky as fuck), cute romance. Short but just the right length for the story. The narration took me a bit to get into but not too long.
