I’ll start by saying that while I enjoy Neil Gaiman’s writing (the two books of his that I’ve read, anyway), I don’t care for Terry Pratchett. I have a very dry sense of humor and Pratchett’s humor... isn’t that. I need more seriousness to find things funny, whereas Pratchett to me feels like everything’s a joke. (Strange the way that works.)
But I enjoyed this. I didn’t find it particularly humorous (though I could tell where I was supposed to) but I enjoyed listening to it. The acting is excellent, the story is well written, and the characters are just superb. I honestly felt bad for Aziraphale and Crowley when they found out they’d been influencing the wrong kid. Kind of a cheesy ending but I was okay with it.
I think it also says a lot about how I enjoyed listening to this so much, this inspired me to go searching for other audiobooks to listen to.
So yeah. In short, this was nice to listen to, even if I rolled my eyes occasionally.
