No rating. This book is beautiful and evocative. I won’t lie. I was captivated. But can we stop romanticizing toxic relationships? This book kind of gets into how Luc and Addie’s relationship is toxic a little, in Addie describing the difference between possession and love, which, yes, cheers to Addie. But Luc’s behavior is never condemned, not really, not to my satisfaction, anyway. His toxic, controlling behavior is never turned into the horror that it is. It stays just sort of a tangentially romantic game that Luc and Addie play.

And Addie deciding to turn the tables and play Luc’s game better than he does doesn’t make it less toxic, or romanticize it less or anything. It just means that she’s now sunk to his level.

I just wonder how many people walked away from this book wanting an ending where Addie and Luc end up together, instead of wanting Addie and Henry to have an HEA.

This is absolutely adorable. It isn’t really a story, just sort of a collection of little moments between a vampire and werewolf who are dating. But it’s funny and charming and lovely and every thing my heart needed. If you can find it, it’s so totally worth it. I highly recommend it.
