On one hand, I kind of enjoyed it. On the other hand, several scenes don’t sit super well with me. This, however, the first book I’ve read that has the fake dating trope (sort of) and then talks about the societal pressure someone is put under to enter into a fake-dating agreement.

This is a short story, but I enjoyed it so much. The characterization is decent (which is always difficult to do in short stories). The emotions, though, are thick and tangible. And despite it being so short, the way the story builds really works for it. I may be in the minority here, after looking through some of the other reviews, but not only do I think it was a perfect length, I don’t think I would have enjoyed this as much if it had been a full length story.

So yeah, a short, sweet, angsty story about two brothers *cough* coming together.

CWs: references to a hospital stay due to sickness, sexual content, and … that’s all I can think of.
