I won this book in a Goodreads giveaway, and I was so excited to get it! Thank you, Simon and Schuster for providing me with an Advance Reader's Edition of The Demonologist! I enjoyed reading this book, it was clever and very well written.

There were a few parts that didn't sit well with me though. I found the strange instantaneous leap from an adamant "non believer" to complete acceptance of demonic existence to be a little strange. After only just having one strange encounter with the man(or demon, I guess) at the mysterious assignment. That was disappointing, there was no denial, or transition, it was a hair trigger change of beliefs. It felt very off. To me, an adamant non believer would fight against even what his eyes and ears were telling him he was witnessing....there would be at the very least some doubt. I also thought that the ending felt rushed and it left me with quite a few questions. Although this could have been done like that to let us readers interprete these things in our own way. It just wasn't a strong conclusion and left too many things unanswered for me to thoroughly enjoy it.

Now for the positives, I loved the following of the signs. Once that really picked up, I found that I couldn't put the story down. The last half of the book definitely had that creepy factor! I made sure all the lights were on and I wasn't sitting alone while reading lol. The Ryes sisters were probably the most unnerving of all, for me. Also, after David had left the sister's house I thought I had the rest of the book figured out...but I was wrong. And while it's enjoyable to be right, being wrong means there are surprises and I like not being able to figure everything out before it happens! I also enjoyed finding out more about David's family and the deep, dark connection that they all unknowingly shared.

So, ultimately I found The Demonologist to be a creepy and enjoyable read. I am so glad that I got the opportunity to be one if the first people to enjoy this novel!

I loved Bitterblue! I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Bitterblue and her dealing with a post Leck kingdom that was shrouded in pain and lies. I liked seeing her grow up and really become a glorious queen. It was AMAZING how all the Graceling books tied together in Bitterblue!! This whole series never disappointed. Even when I had a few issues with some of the heroines, they are all strong, brave, compassionate and multidimensional characters. Also, I am a romance lover but I really think Kristin Cashore did something amazing with these books. They all had a romance to root for in them, but there was so much more going on, each one of these women had a purpose bigger than romance. Most of them got their happiness without giving up their noble causes, I really liked that!! I really hope that this isn't the end of what's to come from Kristin Cashore, she created a pretty fantastical world here, and I would be very interested in reading more of her work.

The Exiled Queen picked up right where the Demon King left off. I liked alternating between Princess Raisa's journey and Cuff's as well. It was funny how much went on separately and them unknowingly being so close to one another the whole time. I have to say that the book really picked up for me about half way in, then it seemed as if big things were really starting to happen.

I really like the characters in this series, they are all very complex. It seems like a constant juggling act for pretty much all of them, everyone had their own secret agendas or identities, and it's damn near impossible to figure out who is trustworthy and who is not. It makes for quite an interesting tale. I look forward to finding out what happens next!

I absolutely love mythology, so naturally I thoroughly enjoyed Touch of Frost! I think it was a lot of fun to read, you have all the myths of the past mixed in with a modern twist. I look forward to reading more of this series, and REALLY look forward to reading more about Vic lol! I thought the sword was a very cool idea, it was refreshing, funny, and something different. With all the news twists on the old myths (Percy Jackson, Covenant series, etc...) it can be hard to set a series apart and make it something unique and special. I feel like Jennifer Estep definitely pulled this off, she had some pretty sweet concepts that made this book stand out.

I really liked this book! I thought it was a really interesting story line. Dreams especially, have always been an interest of mine. There are so many things to question there, everyone has at one point or another had a dream that felt so real, that it was hard to shake off once you woke. I know I'm not the only girlfriend out there who has dreamt about my boyfriend acting like a complete tool, and then woke up vaguely irritated because "dream Jon was an Ahole" lol. So,I really found it intriguing to read a story about a place between dreams and reality.

I also enjoyed the slow budding romance between Jenna and Robert. I, of course, also thoroughly enjoyed the scenes with Chase too. And I have to say I thought the ending was AMAZING. I love how it all turned out and I just hope it won't be the last I read of this set of characters!

Ummm, did it really just end like that?! I am so CONFUSED!!! What the hell just happened?!! I don't even know what to say about this book right now, because I'm truly lost as to what is going on. It was an interesting, fast paced read. I have read a few other Lauren Hammond books, and I have come to expect awesomeness from her. I really enjoy her writing, she always sucks you completely into some FUBAR situation that has you on the edge of your seat up until the very end. A Whisper To a Scream was no exception, it may have been a quick read but it kept me totally engulfed from start to finish. I hope this isn't the last of this particular story...maybe book two is coming out soon. One can only hope.

Ok.....seriously?? Lauren Hanmond, do you just shit gold?! I really did not expect to like this book as much as I did. Clearly I have read other books by the author, and just reading the blurb from this one I really had my doubts. I was very pleasently surprised. I liked the mix of modern and mythology. I enjoyed hearing Hades and Persephone's story. It was neat to see a different side to the, pretty much ultimate bad boy. I just hope the second book comes out soon! I would love to read more of this series!!!!

Oh my god!!! Reckless was.....INCREDIBLE!! It was everything that I had been hoping for and so much more. This was the perfect ending to a roller coaster of a series.


After reading Thoughtless I never thought I would be at a place where I didn't want to throttle Kiera, I have to say I was so wrong. I started warming to her in Effortless, and I absolutely adored her in Reckless. It was a fantastic journey reading all of these books and watching each of the characters grow! Each one of them jumped of the pages!! S.C Stephens has blown me away with this series, seriously one talented author! I wouldn't hesitate to pick up another one of her books. The characters were amazing, and the romance.....oh the romance is breath taking, along with the steamy scenes!! I don't think I could ever have enough of Kellan Kyle. He is a true masterpiece all by hisself.

I also loved how much Kellan and Kiera had grown as a couple in this book. Their struggles never seemed as insurmountable when they stuck together. And even Griffin warmed my heart, being a father really was glorious on him! The only sad part about Reckless was that it was the end. I'm happy for it at the same time too though. It really was the best way to end everything. I just know that this series will definitely be one that I read more than once. I almost don't want to start another book right away because I already know it won't be as good as the one I just finished.

This was a hard book to rate, there was parts that I loved, and then there were things that I just had a hard time getting on board with.

It's been quite awhile since I have read the first book in this series, so I could be wrong here, but I remember Bones being a lot more badass than he was in this book. Don't get me wrong, I still like Bones, but he just seemed a little whipped in this book. Cat was pretty awesome, she kicked a bunch of vampire ass. The humor in One Foot in the Grave was fantastic. When Cat told Annette, "I am going to knock the slut out of you" I was laughing so hard I nearly had tears running down my face! There were some really hot scenes with Cat and Bones, and then there were not. I'm sorry but the BUTT did not do it for me lol. I think that scene could have been incredible as it was, I didn't feel like there had to be a over the top part for shock value or what not.

All in all, I did enjoy reading this book and I'm definitely curious what happens with the gang in the next book!
