I truthfully don't know how I feel about this book! Throughout most of it I was just waiting to find out what the hell was going on. It definitely wasn't action packed. The last 250 pages I was just thinking "please let her freaking birthday come already". Oh man, when it finally came it was great! The ending had me feeling like it just might have been worth it to muddle through the rest of the book. So of course I will add the next book to my to-read list with hopes that it will be a little more exciting since we got a good feel for the characters in this installment.

I really enjoyed this book!! The other books had taken place in a horrific world already devestated by sun flares and "the flare". This book went back 13 years, just a year after the sun flares charred the Earth and in the midst of "the flare" disease. There were also plenty of flashbacks, giving a lot of description to what had happened when the sun flares were hitting the planet as well. Seriously, thank you James Dashner for telling this story! It was as disturbing, if not more than I had thought it would be. So naturally I loved every minute of it!

I just love these books! Riordan never disappoints. This book was action packed and chalk full of interesting characters! It was as per usual a nice mythology book with a modern feel. Also, I love that it truly is a fun read for all ages, my 10 year old loves this series as much as I do! Can't wait for the next book!

I can't even find the words to explain how INCREDIBLE this book was!!! Seriously, I couldn't put this book down today! I barely fed myself, I didn't get anything done and everything I did do I did with my nook in my hand. I was completely consumed by this story! I am thanking my lucky stars to have Elixir early so I can devour it IMMEDIATELY! I just don't know what I'm going to do when that's done. Jennifer Armentrout you are a crazy genius and I can't get enough of pretty much anything you write!

There is one thing I can say for certain, Gillian Flynn is one talented writer. Sharp Objects was a dark and incredibly sinister novel. The characters were all so flawed and honestly disturbing, it seemed as if even the town was wrong and just a maddening place to be. It was an interesting and original book. I think I just had a hard time connecting to any of the characters because it all seemed almost too dark and outrageous at times. Almost like you would have to step into an alternate universe to encounter the ghastly town of Wind Gap and all it's sick inhabitants. So while this was not my favorite Gillian Flynn novel, it was still entertaining and I look forward to reading more by this author.

Wow! I have to say that I really didn't see that coming. The ending was quite a surprise. I'm not really sure where this series will go from here though. While I was definitely growing bored with the dynamic between Ethan and Merit I have a hard time imagining a book in this series without that. I mean their back and forth was more focused on at times than anything else. I will most likely read the next book just too ease my curiosity.

This is a hard book to rate. It's probably around 3.5 stars for me, which is a little disappointing considering how great it started out. It seemed like everything (semi) wrapped up in the last 40 pages. It left so many loose ends and I felt like it was just rushed. Also, I felt like there was a few things that just didn't fit.....*cough, Simone scene, cough*. Seriously?! It seemed a little radical and out of character. I get that you wanted some character growth but I think it could have been accomplished in a more believable way.

It just stinks, I was so into this book throughout the first half, it was a really interesting/frightening concept to be years ahead in a time when the church pretty much rules the World and makes/enforces the laws. Now I'm not saying there is anything wrong with being a religious person. People have the right to believe in whatever they choose to and as long as they don't get aggressive or try to push their beliefs on me, then I'm cool. That being said, the world Hillary Jordan created is almost a conceivable future. It wasn't something so alien that I had a hard time picturing, and to me that made it that much more scary! There was basically zero tolerance for some of the rights women hold dear. Then throw in the mix the whole "chromed" punishment which was very interesting. It seems like a horrible idea but then at the same time it sure would be nice to have some criminals, lets say child molesters for instance marked in that way. I mean you could be sure you and your children steer clear of any "blue people". I guess I can just see the benefits of such a system too. Especially considering how flawed our jail system is.

So basically I did enjoy this book and it was a really interesting story but the end definitely left a lot to be desired in my opinion.
